The Day of

Mabel Forest, Carson Forest's mom, just told Carson that she could go to the mall with her friends.

And let me tell you, Carson was ecstatic.

Carson had only gone to the mall one other time with her friends and even then Mabel was there, just not with Carson. But this time, Mabel was not going to be there. All Carson could think was, I can't be embarrassed now. Amanda won't think of me as such a goodie goodie, and maybe the town will realize I'm a teenager now, not a four year old.

Carson got ready in a flash, she texted her friends that she would be there in 20 minutes.

Mabel took her daughter to the mall and when they got to the mall, Mabel got a quick peck on the cheek before Carson was off.

Carson met up her friends at the door where they then headed inside.

"Hey guys!" Cherry smiled and said hi while Amanda rolled her eyes.

"Finally got rid off the old hag, I see?" A voice spoke up from behind Carson and she frowned as she turned.

It was Amanda's player boyfriend. He's the one who made Amanda rude, Carson knew, she had known that Jack was a player, and tried to warn Amanda.

"That's my mom, Jack, not some 'old hag' so please stop." Carson said in response to Jack's rude comment.

He rolled his eyes and threw his arm over Amanda's shoulder, "whatever."

Cherry, Carson's other friend, once told Carson that she doesn't like Jack either. Jack, a junior, asking out Amanda, a freshman, on the second week of school. Carson thought of it suspicious, expecially because she saw him with his friends right after Amanda had said yes. One of his friends even said, "nice one man, she'll be easy, a month tops."

Cherry shook her head, "I thought this was a no guys thing. I'm not okay with Jack being here, no way."

"Oh, come on," Amanda drags out, effectively making Carson annoyed with her attitude, "don't be a wuss, we just got Carson's mom off of our backs."

Carson narrowed her eyes at her friend. Jack was changing her.

And not for the better.

"No, Amanda," Carson stood up to her friend for the first time since Amanda had started acting snotty. Jack's eyes widened in what Carson believed to be surprise. "You and Jack are not the only people here. Cherry and I are your friends, fix this mess, or I will."

Carson had always refused to get angry, she hated how she was when she was angry. However, now, she was just about to explode.

Amanda noticed this, Jack, did not.

"You're a little bitch. You can never let loose can you?" Jack told Carson and her fist clenched.

"Oh, no!" Cherry whispered to herself but Jack heard. "Come on, Carson. Hold back, you always have. Let's go get some frozen yogurt from Max and Bax. We'll leave Jack and Amanda to themselves." Cherry told Carson and Carson nodded.

You're okay, Carson. Let's go get some food. Cherry is here, frozen yogurt is here, you're okay. Calm down, Carson thought to herself with her eyes closed.

Cherry then grabbed Carson's arm and they walked inside the mall. Carson got chocolaty flavors and Cherry got fruity flavors to eat.

They sat and gossiped for a bit. Carson liked this. This she could handle. No Jack, no overprotective parents stealing glances at you from across the room in Claire's. Just some girl time. Carson was okay with just some girl time. And she thought Cherry was too.

"Hey, Car, I need to pee. Like, really bad." Cherry told Carson and they both laughed.

Carson waved her hand in a shooing motion, "go ahead. Let it out," she laughed, "I'll be right here when you get back. Eating my icecream all alone. . ." Carson joked and Cherry smacked her arm lightly.

"Oh shush up. I be back. L O L." Carson rolled her eyes at the three letters and Cherry laughed.

Carson watched as Cherry entered the door and took a bite of her frozen yogurt.

Amanda just walked in to see Cherry walking to the bathroom while Carson continued eating. Amanda told Jack to go and he did, but not without an angry huff.

Carson was feeling happy and content and didn't notice that Amanda walked in or that a man was closing in from behind her.

"I want you to turn around and smile at me." Carson heard as something pressed into her back.

Holy crap, a gun! She thought and did as asked by the scary voice.

She turned around and smiled at a man with a black beard and black hair. He smiled back, seemingly satisfied with her actions.

"Good girl. Now, come with me and tell your little friend that I'm your uncle, make it believable, too."

Carson nodded and sat with the man, waiting for Cherry.

Amanda watched Carson and the strange man. She had smiled at him, so it didn't seem weird, but Amanda didn't go to them. Instead, she stood and watched for a while longer.

Cherry came back and Carson spoke, trying not to give the man any leverage that would make him want to hurt her.

"Cherry, this is my uncle, Jeffrey." Carson and her friends always came up with little senarios. Being kidnapped was one of them.

The three girls decided that if they were to be kidnapped, and spoke to the other for any reason while with kidnapper, that they would say that the person's name is Jeffery.

Carson never thought that she would need to use the name, but she did now.

Cherry nodded and tried to act natural. Jeffery directed Carson out of the mall and to a blue minivan where she was sat in the back. The windows were tinted, Carson frowned at this.

Back in the mall, Cherry spotted Amanda and ran to her.

"Jeffrey! Carson said he was her uncle Jeffrey!" Cherry panted out to Amanda and Amanda quickly called Carson's mom as they ran to the nearest employee to tell of the kidnapping.

Meanwhile, the man was driving. To where, Carson had no clue. But she was worried out of her mind. What would happen to her? Was he going to rape her? Hurt her? Or even worse. . .

Was the man with the black beard going to kill her?
