Katelyn Pov

Walking into his room, I find that Christopher isn't the only one there.

"Hello, Miss Joyce."

I say as politely as I can. Just because we bumped heads doesn't mean that I have to be a bitch about it, and not acknowledge her.

"Mmmh"

Was all she mustered. That's not even a word, not even a greeting. But, I'm not gon trip, not gon say shit. She's certainly not paying my bills, so it really isn't something to worry about.

"Anyways, I wanted to speak to Christopher.... Alone."

I say, making sure she got the hint. Only, she doesn't budge.

"Whatever you have to say to him, you can say in front of me... After all, I am his mother."

Raising both my eyebrows, I feel a wave of shock that she even talked to me in such a way. Fine, she wants to all big and bold..

"Guess what, Christopher?"

I ask excitedly. He giggles, bouncing up and down on his bed.

"What, Kate... Linn? I wanna know... You gon tell me.. Cause I wanna know."

He nods his head in excitement, as I stand in front of him.

"Well, if you wanted to, you could come over my house."

He grins widely.

"I've been there? No, no I haven't."

"If you wanted to, you could stay there forever.."

I say, nervous for his answer.

"You mean I can spend the night for ever and ever and ever?"

I laugh, agreeing.

"YAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!"

He yelled out, standing in front of me, picking my up, and spinning me around the room.

"I'm going to start packing now!!! Yeah, I'll pack. I'm going spend the night for ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and..."

He continues repeating this as he begins to collect his belongings.

"Uh, and who gave you permission to do all this? You know, it doesn't matter. What makes you think you can just barge in and steal my son away from me? You've got another thing coming."

I scoff.

"Look, you lost all rights to call him your son the day you realized that you were never going to be there for him. I didn't steal shit, honestly. In order to steal something, it had to have belonged to someone in the first place. I honestly don't care about your feelings at this point. It's about Christopher, and always will be about him. I love him dearly... I just wish you could say the same."

I may have chosen the words that may have seemed as if I was out of control. When really, I was as calm as can be. I'm not about to let her have the ability to hype me up.

Helping Christopher pack his bags and say his goodbyes, I place everything in the back seat of my car, and get in after him. Now it's time..

Home sweet home.
