At the Golden Pavilion

A meeting of the leaders of all creatures is being held.
"The raging wars are deemed greater by the second, the dark ones getting stronger. We will have to help each other." The great Minotaur started.
"I refuse to let more of my people die to help. We have our own problems." The Winged king said sternly.
"I refuse to hear of the ignorance of Antario in his refusal to help the mythical, as if he is not one of us." The mer-king said.
"Well, Axarion, let me see your people help my people. See if they don't die the minute they run out of water!" Antario replied in return, coldly.
An argument rose between the two opposite kinds. Antario is sky, Axarion is water. The winged can't go into water because their wings will be ruined, and they cannot fly. The mer's can't go to the sky, because they cannot fly and they need water.
"Ah, cackle-bats! Shut your mouths or I'll zip 'em for ya!" The Witch said, waving her wand in front of the two.
The two kings shut up that instant, as the Witch, Zelda, eyed them.
"Okay, so I have an idea, but I don't know if you'll like it." Zelda smirked.
"What?" Axarion snapped.
"Watch your language, young man." She pointed her wand at him and instantly, there was a cloth that tied tightly around Axarions's mouth to shut him up.
"Any of you want some? I have lots of where that came from." She growled like a mad dog.
Shaking of heads were thrown about in the large room.
"Good, now let me tell you of my plan." She composed herself once more and sat up straight.
"It will only be use of the two ignorant men that argued earlier. The rest of you don't have any arguments?"
"No, Zelda."
"Good. The plan is..." She smirked.
"Aira." She said, as if it was the simplest thing ever.

Ella's POV

Ring... Ring... Ring...
I partially opened my eyes and glanced at my digital clock. 6:30 am. Ugh. Too early for someone to call.
I picked up the ringing cellphone beside me.
"What?!" I snapped. I was definitely NOT in a good mood today.
"Whoa, someone's not in a good mood on her birthday!" It was Faye. I suddenly remembered it's my birthday! Yay! 18th birthday!
"Happy birthday, Faye!" It's her birthday too today.
"Happy birthday, Ella!" She greeted back.
"Secret spot, a quarter to seven?"
"Sure, be there." Then I hung up. I got fifteen minutes to go.

I sneaked out of the house while Dad and Adrian are still asleep.
I watched the sun rise up in the sky as I walked to our secret spot at the beach.
"Hey, birthday girl!" She greeted enthusiastically as I neared the place.
She was wearing her yellow bathing suit and shorts, with an almost translucent oversized t-shirt that was probably her brother's. I wore a purple bathing suit and a flowing thin blue dress to my thighs.
"Hey, why don't you greet me, instead of greeting yourself?" We laughed at my failed attempt to crack a joke.
. . .
"Come on, sit down." She patted a spot on the wide smooth rock she was sitting on.
I gazed out into the deep blue sea as the water splashed just below my knee. A deep longing within me grew bigger and bigger, to swim into the blue. It was like the sea was calling to me. My blue and purple markings on my arm started to glow. This always happens during only my birthday, but this time, the call was so strong I couldn't resist it.
I turned to Faye, who was gazing with a deep longing into the blue sky, the clouds puffier than ever. It was a perfectly sunny day.
"It's been forever, huh?" She said, while laying down on the rock, legs crossed, all the while gazing into the sky.
"I've missed this place." I glanced at her blue and yellow markings, also on the shoulder, which were starting to glow.
"Me too." Then she sighed deeply, the longing in her eyes greater.
"You want to fly, huh?" It was always her dream to fly, since she was younger.
"Hm, yeah... I really wish I could." Her eyes showed of amazement now, with a hint of imagination.
"But you can." A new voice joined in.
