Tristan's POV

"Hello?" I put the phone to my ear.
"Tris, I have to tell you something." A voice whom I recognized as Skylar's answered on the other line.
"Well, we are talking now, don't you think?"
"No, at the restaurant near the beach, fifteen minutes. Be there."
"Sure. I got her."
"Aira?"
"Yeah."
"Don't let her go. Take her to the restaurant with you."
"Sure."
"Bye." He hung up the phone.
. . .
"Tris, where's Aira?" Skylar approached the table where I'm sitting at the moment.
"Oh, yeah, she went to use the comfort room." I answered.
"Ugh. Moron. Can't you see? She's trying to escape! She can control water, you know. I knew I shouldn't have trusted you. You sea monsters are always trouble."
"Uh, hello! You're the real moron here. Did you think I'd let her go that easily? I used my powers on her. And don't call my kind that, you flying mutant." I scowled at him. We didn't usually get along, as he's winged, and I'm mer.
"At least I'm not a smelly fish mutant. We winged groom ourselves every 4 hours while awake, while you fish mutants never clean yourselves, for all I know."
I was about to react to this statement, as we mer's are very clean and organized. We clean ourselves every time we had the chance, that I know.
"What is going on?" Aira came, her arms crossed across her chest.
"I, uh, nothing." I stuttered.
"Yeah, uh, nothing! Right, we were choosing what to order." Skylar lied. Smooth move, Sky. I thought sarcastically.
"Hmm, let me think. From what I've heard, you two were arguing over nonsense things, worse than a human girl. Let's see, should I report this to your kings, or throw Skylar in the ocean and hold Tristan in his mer form up in the sky direct to heat?"
"No, sorry, Aira. forgive us." We apologized.
"So, why did this man here not allow me to go?" Aira said as she sat down cross-legged on the chair.
"Where are they?" Skylar asked.
"Where are who?" She pretended not to know who Skylar was talking about.
"The girls, Aira. Where are they?" Skylar growled. I enjoyed watching this--the woman pretending she doesn't know a thing with a smug face, having an argument with an arrogant flying mutant.
"Okay guys, stop it. Aira, where are the girls? Did they change yet?" I cut them off, as Aira was about to answer to Skylar, as much as I hated to.
She hesitated first and took a deep breath.
"Yes. They did. They're at the mall right now, I think."
"Okay, so how do they look like?" I ask again. I can't believe Aira is telling us what we are looking for, with the thousands of secrets she has.
"A girl with lavender eyes with a hint of blue, shoulder-length brown hair, wearing a purple blouse and jeans, another is a girl with blue eyes with a hint of yellow in it, long blonde hair, wearing a yellow blouse and jeans shorts." Skylar answered for us.
