Chapter 9

"So... It's finally begun... The beginning of the C--r-p--on... Who shall we start with? Of course the only reasonable one is Evie. So then..."

"Wake up our trigger of the end..."

The group of Unhackables plus Thimo sat around the library. Evie was still sleeping on one of the couches with Badge watching over her. Everyone was so silent you can hear a cockroach fart. Evie shifted as she began to mumble something.

"Please.... Stop everything... I... Can't stand it anymore...." she said before going still again.

"What are we going to do? What if... What if she changes into that?" Kailey asked with her head in her arms hugging her legs.

"Please don't think like that! I'm sure that she won't... She won't change into..." Haley said cutting herself off.

"Into a Malfunction." Thimo said finishing Haley's sentence.

Everyone flinched upon hear that name.

"Let's not talk about those... And please don't say their names..." Teresa said.

"Hmm? Why not?"

"Certain reasons... I bet you already know two of them."

"Yeah... I know that we aren't supposed to bring it up in conversations and that we should never remind people of those that did turn... Is there any other reasons? For your group in particular?"

"We have a rule that we never say their names. Why? Because it always brings bad fortune. It's like the word itself has power..." Cookieh said patting Kailey on the head.

"There's also the rule of never letting any of us turn and change into them. If our words can still reach them, then we have to help bring down their sanity." Fizzy said.

"I'm surprised that you're awake for once."

"Well I couldn't sleep knowing that my friend could be in risk of changing... Plus the atmosphere is too heavy."

"Hmm... I wonder... What even happened? I know Thimo was there when she collapsed." Haley asked.

"I want to know as well." Teresa said.

"Well... It's definitely a long story." Thimo said as Badge nodded.

"Start from the beginning. We have all the time in the world."

"Okay then... Let's start with when Twi died..."

~A Couple Weeks Earlier~

"NOOO!"

"Evie!" Badge and Teresa yelled as Evie passed out after screaming.

Luckily Thimo caught her before she hit the ground. He picked her up and walked over to where the Unhackables stood. He gently passed her over to Badge. Badge quickly ran off in the direction of the dorm infirmary. It was silent as the rest of them stood there.

"W-we should go as well..." Haley said sniffling.

"Yeah..." Teresa said as they began walking to the infirmary.

When they arrived, Badge was sitting beside Evie who lay on one of the five beds. She was breathing heavily like she was having a nightmare. Everyone entered the rather huge infirmary and sat around Evie's bed. Badge was gripping one of Evie's hand, the one with her diamond decorated wristband, like she was in critical condition.
