I'm Sorry

[I'm Sorry- Chapter 1]

Thorne and Cress were sleeping peacefully, well at least Cress seemed to be.

They were spending their last night on Luna before they left for Earth to distribute the letumosis antidotes.

Cress had a nightmare, causing her to go to Thorne's room. He had comforted her and she fell asleep on his arms.

It was Thorne who was having a nightmare this time.

He stabbed her. A look of hurt, anger, and disgust passed on her face before her eyes rolled back in her head. "Cress? CRESS!"

Levana made him kill the love of his life. He wanted to turn the knife on himself but Levana still had control over his body.

"Captain? Captain, wake up!"

Thorne sat up, panting.

Cress placed her hand on his cheek and turned his face to hers.

He placed his hand on her cheek, "I-I killed you. In my nightmare when Levana took control over me, I killed you!" He was crying now.

Cress wiped his tears away, "I'm right here. Safe and sound. I'm never going to leave you."

Thorne crashed his lips to hers, putting more passion into this kiss than any other; he held her as if she would slip away if he loosened his grip.

Cress didn't mind, of course. His kisses made her heart melt, but this one was different. It didn't just make her heart melt, it made her melt. She loved him with all her heart and he loved her with all his heart. She was his and he was hers. That's all that matters.

He pulled away and rested his forehead on hers, "I'm so sorry, Cress."

Cress thought about his missing fingers. "I'm sorry too, Captain."

They stayed like that for awhile until Thorne laid back down, laying her on top of him. He wrapped his arms around her and fell asleep.

Cress had never felt so content in her entire life. She too drifted off to sleep.

From that night on they slept in the same bed, since they never seemed to get nightmares when they were in each other's arms.

They were so in love with each other, it hurt. They protected each other. They needed each other. They wanted each other. They were going to have a happily ever after.
