PROLOGUE

Slowly my eyes flutter open. Everything seemed fuzzy, i suddenly began gasping for air. Then a sudden dizziness hit me hard, causing my vision to blur even worser. Sneaking through the air, a rancid odour made me feel nauseous as i buried my head into my lap. Though i still felt poorly, i was slowly getting my vision back, but a sudden alarm ran within me. Where was i? Looking around, i rapidly noticed i was at an old park about 15 minutes away from my house, sitting up against a tree.. How did i get here...Wasn't i..Tess..Where's Tess? Slightly panicking, I used the support of the tree to get to my feet when my eyes caught something that shook me. The spot where i rested my head, on my jeans, was covered in blood. I swallowed hard, trembling, my hands reached the side of my forehead where there was immense pain, as strong as a hundred daggers sinking into it. Scarred and sore i felt bruises and cuts there, accompanied with a new warm scarlet fluid trickling down, sending chills within me. I need to get out of here, how did i even...Sh*t it's getting dark but as i prepared to sprint home, i stopped dead in my tracks... every hair on me stood tall and still, my eyes widened in horror, my heart protested to beat, i gave a piercing cry as i fell to my knees..

Tess was hanging from a tree.
