Just Friends, Right?

Katy and I land and go into another airport, where we see 2 people holding signs that say "Sarah and Maddy, this way."

My stomach tightens as I look at Katy.
"Ready Sarah?"
"I'm ready Maddy."

We walk to them, to our surprise, it's Chase and Jen.

We shake their hands, smiling ear to ear.

"CHASE! JEN! Hi!"

They laugh and nod, motioning for us to follow them to a limo. It's absolutely gorgeous, but on the inside of the limo it's even more attractive. There sat Charles and Rhett.

"Hello ladies, which of you is Sarah?" Link chuckles.

Katy nods and waves. "I am Sarah. Nice to meet you. You smell good." She's so excited she doesn't know what to do.

I smile at Rhett. "Hello Rhett. I'm Maddy, and I'll be your date for tonight" I wink.

"Hello gorgeous, pleasure to meet you. I am Rhett."

We both take a seat by the boys, Katy to the left of link, me to the right of Rhett.

Katy and link are talking it up, Rhett and I are just looking at our phones quietly. Rhett smiles at me.
"You okay Maddy?"
"Yes, I'm fine, just guilty."
"Of what?"
"I have a boyfriend actually. He's amazing. I can't leave him, you know."

Rhett smiles beneath his luscious beard.
"I'm so happy that you're honest, it means a lot, but I would gladly be your friend."

The limo stops at a nice restaurant.

The door is opened by the driver and held open.

I look at Katy and she looks so dressed up and ready, as for me, I'm in jeans and a plaid shirt.

I stutter, "u-uhh. I'm not dressed for this."

Rhett smiles and grabs my hand.
"You look amazing Maddy, just have dinner with us."

I turn red at his touch.

"Just friends, right?"

"Just friends, Maddy."

After dinner, we head to the studio where they show us all the behind the scenes.

I decide to text Michael

"Hey baby. Hope you're safe and your mother is having a good birthday. I miss you."

"Hello lover, yes all is well and mum says thanks. She wishes you could be here to wish her a happy 40th! But I am just fixing to head to the gym. I love you lots and lots like jelly tots! xxx"

I smile and click my phone off. Katy and link are sharing phone numbers, I believe they really like each other. As far as I'm aware, Rhett is a friend.

He grabs my phone and puts his number in it.
"If you need anything, you can text me. I'll wait until I get that text to save your number."

The boys rented us a room in a hotel for a week. We head to our hotel, say our good nights and head to bed.

Katy and I stay up all night talking about how fun it was. We sure are lucky.
