Adelaide...

🎶One is the Moon,
Guides me through the night.

Two are the Stars,
Friendly pictures in the skies.

Three is the Wind,
Holding mysteries of the plains.

Four are the Tides,
The outskirts of the woods.

Five is Death,
Where we'll  knock at one point.

Six is Life,
Bad or good, no one can tell.

Seven is Family,
Their loyalty is strong, if you're lucky.

Eight is Friendship,
Without any, what can you say?

Nine is You,
Someone with me in this thick forest.

Ten is Me,
With nothing to hold onto anymore.🎶

...

Two children, walking through the tall grass of who know's where. One boy, and one girl.

"So, what's your name anyway?" Asked the boy, looking around his surroundings.

The girl shrugged, having nothing to say to the boy. The boy stared at the girl's strawberry blonde hair. She hadn't made a sound since they found themselves lost in this tall grass, with the woods ahead.

The boy shrugged. "Well, my name is Walter. Is it okay if I call you Adelaide? Don't worry, it has a good meaning. It means to be noble, and you seem like a pretty... noble person, with helping me and all. I mean we barely know each other!"

Again, the girl shrugged, wondering when the boy will stay quiet.

"So, Adelaide, how do we get home exactly? We need to find our way back, as soon as possible, otherwise my mom and dad will get worried." The boy rambled on.

The girl flinched. Then slowly said, "Nothing lasts forever."

The boy looked at her with a puzzled expression. "Why not?"

She looked down. "Nothing lasts forever, because it can't."

"Come on Adelaide!" The boy exclaimed. "Some things can last forever, like friendship, or love, or family, or..."

"Family can't ever last forever. Nor can friendship, or love, or whatever stupid things you're making up Walter. Now come on, keep up. We're going into the woods."

The boy tilted his head. "How are we going to find our way through the woods? Won't we get lost?"

"Pray that we don't." The girl said.

"What do you mean? It's just a bunch of trees." The boy stuttered.

"I feel like it's more than that. Far more. Anyway, you need to get home, and so do I. Come on."

Then she stepped slowly in the the thick forest, with the boy at her heels, wondering if this is a good idea.

Then again, how else are they going to get home? Adelaide was like his flashlight. She knew the way, and the way was through this forest.

This, thick, scary, dark forest.
