A stroll through these woods,

Can lead one astray.

Be wary of your goods,

For they are ticket to day.

This world can be full of crime,

Through and through.

May you use your Time,

May you both be true.

...

The two young ones journeyed through the woods, a gateway open to mysteries untold.

The youthful Walter, in all his glory, has been a tad bit cheerful, hopeful of his stroll through these dark woods.

The fated Adelaide, whom gives not a care. She has been quiet, her view of the world one way and one way alone.

And of course, a new friend that was following them. A tiny feline, with little bat wings. With some intense convincing, little Olive, as Walter named him, was a part of the crew.

Walter jumped up into trees, seemingly enjoying himself. "Laidey, look!" He exclaimed, pointing at a dark purple butterfly.

The youthful creature danced circles in the air, showing off its beauty to the world.

It looked rather one with the forest. It also stood out against the twisted, thorn-infested branches.

Walter giggled, reaching out for the little butterfly. Adelaide glanced at him, and soon enough, Walter was flying up in the air, being wrapped up in the magical scarf the preteen was wearing.

Walter glanced at Adelaide, confused. She gently picked up a stick and poked at the butterfly. It immediately imploded, spewing a neon purple at the opposite direction of the trio.

Walter wailed, upset that Adelaide killed the butterfly. She just rolled her eyes and set Walter back down.

"You two are impossible to kill, is it?" Said a hoarse voice.

Adelaide and Walter turned around to meet three young men, cloaked in black.

"Oh! Hello!" Walter cried out, a huge smile on his face.

Adelaide groaned. "Crud."

The men in black circled them, and the one in front of Adelaide pulled off his mask, sending her a grin.

"Hello. What are two little kids and a Nonidem doing here, in these dark, dangerous woods?" He asked, looking rather amused and curious.

Walter piped up. "We're trying to get home!"

Adelaide face-palmed. "Who are you all? And what's with the lame get-up?"

The man smirked. "Ooh,... nice attitude girl! The name's Loki. I have a question for you both: Have you both heard of the Wanderer's Lament?"

Walter shook his head "no", while Adelaide looked down, clutching her lantern, her hands shaking.

"Yes. I have." Adelaide responded.

Loki grinned, glancing at his comrades, who were both eyeing the young girl.

"Good," He replied, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Do you know the third and fourth verse of the song?"

Adelaide gripped her lantern even more. She let one of her hands go from the lantern, and grabbed Walter's hand.

"'Be wary of your goods, for they are ticket to day.'" She said softly.
