Chapter 8

I went to school again with Kaito, Amy and Alice.

"So, is there anything you plan to do over the weekend?" Alice asked.

"Hmm... Probably the usual stuff. Just sit and watch anime or read manga," I replied.

"I bet that it'll be Black Rock Shooter," Amy said.

"Probably. I haven't watched it in a while," I said.

"So, what do you plan to do during the weekend, Kaito?" Alice asked.

"It's a secret," Kaito said.

"Why? Is Miku involved?" Amy asked.

"Not telling. It's best that none of you guys know. It's dangerous," Kaito said.

"Is it about Zatsune?" I asked.

I remembered what my brother said to me last night.

Last Night

"So, as you know, you are involved in Zatsune's plan, but do you know why?" Mikuo asked.

"No. I wasn't told much," I replied.

Mikuo sighed.

"She plans to go against all VOCALOIDs there are and she requires you to help her," Mikuo said.

"Why would she need to require my help?" I asked.

"Because you are one of the most popular VOCALOIDs there are. Ever since you started working as one, it put you in more risk than when you were just a normal citizen," Mikuo said.

"Huh? Did any of the VOCALOIDs know about it?" I asked.

"Len and Kaito were the only ones that knew," Mikuo said.

"If he knew it, why did he ask me to become one?" I asked.

"Because you're a trustworthy person and you won't be able to betray those closest to you," Mikuo said.

"But he asked me on the first day," I said.

"That has nothing to do with it. He did research on you before he went to your school. The reason why he joined your school is because of the mission he was given, not because he felt he needed more education. He just couldn't tell you that," Mikuo said.

"I think I understand but how will they be able to defeat Zatsune?" I asked.

"That's why he was sent to your school. He was sent to your school to retrieve you because you're the only one who can defeat her," Mikuo said.

"How am I?" I asked.

"You'll find out through time. Anyway, we must go to bed now. Goodnight," Mikuo said, walking up the stairs.

Kaito just stared at me.

"You'll find out when Saturday comes. Right now, I can't tell you anything else," Kaito said.

"Yeah, we're running late," Alice said, checking the time on her phone.

"We've only got five minutes!" Amy said.

We all stopped talking and started running to school.
