After the reveal of the mountain lion, things got pretty chaotic. Sheriff Stilinski radioed in backup and an ambulance for himself, and Stiles showed up in a panic, freaking out over his dad being hit by a car. It took Sheriff Stilinski, Mom, Scott, and myself to calm him down. Then Mom dragged (literally) Scott away to the car with me in tow.
The car ride was awkward to say the least. After Mom disclosed how glad she was that Scott wasn't dead, she yelled at him until we reached home. Scott then disappeared straight to his room, leaving Mom to deal with her off-the-rail emotions.
I flop face-first down on my bead, letting out a groan into the sheets. When did things become so complicated? My phone buzzes and I sit up, checking it to see a text from Elena.
WHAT'S THIS ABOUT A MOUNTAIN LION @ SCHOOL???
My phone dings again; this time it's Bonnie.
ELENA SAYS THERE WAS A MOUNTAIN LION @ THE SCHOOL...IS THAT TRUE?!?!
I put both of them in a group message and start typing out a reply when my bedroom door swings open. I let out a small scream and jump up, startled. When I see who's standing in my doorway, my eyes widen in shock, which quickly turns to apprehension when I see the look on his face.
"Can I help you?" I say, allowing some sass to creep into my voice considering how rudely he barged into my room.
"Were you in my room?" Scott has one hand behind his back and another clenched in a fist at his side.
"What?"
"Did I stutter?" He practically snarls. "Were you in my room?"
"No?" I say, confused.
"Really?" He shakes his head in disbelief. The hand he had behind his back comes forward to show a crumpled wad of paper, and it takes me a moment to recognize them. It's the letters he wrote me.
"Oh." The word barely comes out of my mouth before Scott blows.
"Are you serious? Oh?" He angrily throws the papers on the ground. "What the hell, Emma?"
"Scott, listen-"
"No, you listen! I put up with you coming here and butting into my life, and I never asked anything from you. But when you come into my personal space, and go through my stuff, that draws the line. That's the only place I have free from you!"
My eyes widen in shock at his last sentence. "Scott I'm just trying to look out for you."
"Look out for me? What part of going through my stuff counts as looking out for me? And what the hell do you think you're looking out for me from?"
"Drugs, Scott!" I blurt, tired of his angry yelling.
He pauses for a second as if he's trying to figure out if he heard me right. "Drugs?"
"Yes, Scott. Drugs! You know, steroids."
He looks really confused. "You think I'm on drugs?"
"Yes! And I know Derek Hale is your dealer." I cross my arms, squeezing myself comfortingly.
"You know Derek?" Scott still looks confused, but now he looks more concerned.
"No. I mean I've only run into him twice, but that doesn't matter!"
Scott is now a mixture of scared and confused. "Stay away from Derek." He demands.
"No, Scott, you stay away from Derek! Whatever he's selling you is messing you up in all kinds of ways."
"What do you mean by that?"
