2 month later

Mackenzie POV
"Baby stop we need to finish getting ready" I said to Rico. We were taking a shower together and of course he wanted to have sec but I'm still not ready. "Come on baby, this is torture looking at your beautiful body and not be able to hit" he said and gripped my ass. "You'll survive" I said and stepped out the shower.

I rubbed my body down with lotion from bath and body works. Then I got dressed in my black leggings, white loose crop top. I flat ironed my hair that was down to the middle of my back with a middle part and put on my black beanie that said bad b*tch on it in white letters. I went to Zion's room to get him ready while Rico got dressed.

Where are we going he asked. "It's grandpa's birthday and he having a cookout at his house" I told him. "Ohh ok mommy" he said bringing a smile to my face.

I love he thinks of me as his mom. And even though he's not my biological son. I love him as if he were my own.

I dressed him in his in his white polo shirt and true religion jeans. I went downstairs and Rico was wearing the same thing as Zion. "Look at him tryna copy us" I said. "Y'all some hop ons" he said. "Whatever lets go I don't want to be late" I said.

We got in the car and started driving to my dad's house. He was talking bout some it's gonna be small just family, this shit was packed. We spotted my dad and walked over to home to wish him happy birthday.

"Happy birthday daddy" I said and handed him his gift from me and Rico. It was a gold rope chain. My dad loves chains and watches. "Awwe thanks baby girl" he said and gave me a hug and a forehead kiss. "Happy birthday grandpa" Zion said and handed him a card that he made himself. "Awwe thanks little man, I think this is the best card anybody have me so far" Zion smiled then went to go play with the other kids.

"Sister" I heard Kendall yell. "Sissy" I yelled back. And we gave each other a hug. "We get it y'all are related, you don't have to scream sister every time you see each other" Smoke said walking over with a plate of food. "Whatever" Kendall said. "Let me get some bestfriend" I said reaching for his food. "Hell no bitch you've been begging for food since the day we met, you can go make your own plate" he said. "Fuck you where's my other best friend" I said looking scanning the area for her. "Ohh Nyah's bitching about nothing as usual" Smoke said.

"What did you do to my baby" Kendall asked. "I just gave her nasty ass lemonade some constructive criticism" he said. Nyah came behind him and smacked the back of his head, causing us all to laugh.

  Me, Kendall, Nyah, Zion, and Zion's cousin/friend Jeremiah was sitting down and eating while the boys were playing basketball. Today has been nothing but fun so far. I saw a lot of family I haven't seen in a long time.

Bryon POV (Kenzie and Kendall's dad)
"I don't think she's gonna be too happy to see me" Natasha said A.K.A. Mackenzie's mom. "I don't think she'll be either but you two do need to work this out" I said.

  I know what you guys are thinking. Why are you even talking to her in the first place? Well I've been helping her get her life together. She said she wants to fix her relationship with her daughter. I'm not so sure if I believe her, that's between her and Kenzie, but the part of me that still loves this woman is willing to help her at least get back on her feet.

  I helped her pay for and apartment but now that she has a job she pays the bills by herself, for the first time in her entire life.

  She's slowly but surely getting back to her old self. I knew the Natasha I fell in love was still there.

  I invited her today, but she's nervous and I don't blame her. "I think I'll just go maybe next time and happy birthday" she said and handed me a gift bag. I pulled out what was inside it was an otter box phone case. "It's not much but I know you just got a new cause you broke your old one and I noticed you still didn't put a case on it so I thought that maybe-" she said but I cut her off. "Thanks this is perfect" I said and gave her a hug.

  We pulled away and looked at each other. Next thing I knew my lips were on hers and surprisingly she didn't resist. We kissed for about 10 seconds then she pulled away. "Sorry" I said. "No it's fine but I have to go" she said getting back in her car and driving off.
