Chapter 2
Salina’s Pov.
I have not seen uncle Bobby since I was a kid he used to make me P.B & J sandwiches and teach how to play cards with him and his odd friend Rufus, he looks older now suppose the happens when you haven’t seen him in over ten years were standing or sitting in the sitting room/office, Marlie is sitting on an old coach I had to move some books aside to make room for her, I’m standing next to his disorganised desk and Bobby is standing awkwardly in the doorway, I look around noticing books everywhere I notice a lot of them probably all are on the supernatural I notice an open book on his desk with a photo of a Chupacabra I turn to Bobby “Chupacabra you into Mythology or something Uncle Bobby?”
Bobby clears his throat “Uh yeah summin like that, I don’t have much food in, I don’t know what you like so I will give you some money so you can get whatever you need, and uh I have spare rooms I didn’t know you were coming so I ain’t tidied them in a while but one room is for the boys they are good lads they stay when there in town, I have two other spare rooms so you guys can work that out between ya” Bobby scratches the back of his head looking a little nervous.
“Oh ok cool, well I can go shopping once I have Marlie settled, oh I guess you ain’t met her before so well this little angel is Marlie she’s 5 she’s a good girl, does as she’s told, we won’t get in your way” I can’t help but ramble I’m just as nervous as he is, I have done everything to stay with my sister I raised her I even named her since momma was too lazy and wanted to call after the place we were born I managed to get her to agree to letting me name Marlie and she could have the middle name, Marlie’s is Wichita and well mine is Dakota, Marlie's daddy well he is either the guy in prison for drugs charge or some married CEO who already has kids he gave momma a check to make sure his name stayed off of the birth certificate the jackass I punched him in the face the last time I saw him gave him a right shiner.
Just as I was about to ask if he minded me cooking since Marlie was a picky eater his phone rang, “Hello Bobby speaking”
I could hear a male’s voice on the other end, bobby has his back to us
“Bobby you get the info on the Chupalabra?”
“Dean it’s Chupacabra not Chupalabra ya Idjit”
“Whatever so did you?”
“I was about to but I got distracted look I will call you back, I have company”
“Make it soon this thing is making a mess and it messed up my car, my car bobby”
Bobby hangs up, turning back towards me “sorry about that, business.” He walks over to me looking me in the eye “I’m sorry ya Momma walked out on ya Lena, look why don’t I show you to your rooms, and then I will give you my card and keys to my truck you can go out and get food and whatever else you need for your rooms and such”
“uh yeah that would be great, thanks Uncle Bobby” I smile up at him, he has always been a kind man I don’t have to worry about his temper I know he has one but he would never take it out on the marlie or me.
Me and the Marlie picked our rooms, Marlie’s room is a small room her walls are cream definitely needs a new coat to There is and single bed with a white wood finish I would paint flowers on it to give it a girly touch for Marlie since she loves drawing and painting I will have to remember to ask Uncle Bobby if she can decorate her own room maybe after we have been here a while, she has a set of drawers and a bedside table that match her bed she will need a few things for her room too, I still have money left over from my last job, while the Marlie is scoping out her room, I find mine it has a jack and Jill bathroom so I must be sharing with those boys he was talking about, I’ll check it has a locks to be safe, my room has double bed pushed into the far corner next to the window with shelves around the room and a few cool picture hanging on the wall, I have a wardrobe, chest of drawers, it’s a mess but I’ve seen worse, I decide I will also need things for my room, dump my things at the end of the bed.
I check on the Marlie seeing if they would like to come with me Marlie wants to stay and play with her dolly, I give her a juice box telling her to behave for uncle Bobby and that I shouldn’t be too long, I make my way downstairs to Bobby’s office “hey Uncle bobby do you mind if I redecorate the rooms the paints faded I was thinking of getting me and the Marlie a few things for the rooms to make her more comfortable I have enough so I don’t need money, I just wanted to make sure you were ok with that”
Uncle Bobby looks up from his books “Of course whatever makes you both feel at home I guess you taking Marlie with you?”
“Marlie wanted to stay and play with her toys don’t worry though she’s real quite when she’s playing I shouldn’t be more the two hours so if she gets hungry she likes water at the moment and she loves P.B &J” he smiles at the last part I guess he remembers they were my favourite
“Ok, we will be fine don’t you worry, here are my keys and card to get what you need don’t worry about the limit just get what ya need”
“Thank you Uncle Bobby for everything” I give him a small smile taking the keys and card I give him a wave and head out to the truck.
