I looked over to see Caileigh fast asleep with those goddamn earphones still in. I sighed and continued to drive up the now dirt road, knowing we would come up to the cabin soon. I was looking forward to the two-week-long getaway.

"Oh hey Jason and Callista are coming!", Kassie said from the backseat. I had to fight not to freeze and run us into a tree or something.

"What did you just say Kassie?", I asked with my teeth clenched. She dropped her phone and looked at me through the rearview mirror.

"Uhm. Jason and Callista are coming....they were invited by your girlfriend.., Kassie said nervously. I looked over to Caileigh's sleeping figure and couldn't muster the will to be extremely mad because she was adorable asleep. I cursed as we pulled up to the cabin.

At the moment I couldn't even appreciate how pretty it was because I was furiously wondering why she had invited the asshole ex of hers. Kassie and Landon seemed frozen in the backseat, sensing my anger. I threw the keys back and told them to go inside without us.

They obliged, and I got out as well, walking over to Caileigh's side of the car. I opened the door and gently shook her awake. It was raining lightly outside, and I wanted this to be as quick as possible. She opened her amazing gray-blue eyes and looked at me, confused at first, then the same loving look it always is.

"Hi", she said quietly, smiling until she truly saw my facial expression. She instantly frowned and got up out of the car. I shook my head and sat where she had been, pulling the into my lap and shutting the car door. She looked even more confused at this point, watching my facial expressions carefully.

"Why'd you invite Jason and Callista? They are coming and I didn't know?", she froze, obviously panicking, and I started to worry as well. The ex she had invited, was one that she left me for years ago. She buried her face in my neck, slowly shaking her head.

"They were supposed to deny. It was just a peace offering to get Callista off my ass... I was tired of her constant berating...why didn't Jason talk her out of it... I'm so happy I have you with me", She rambled on for a moment before I just softly kissed her, the easiest way to quiet her.

I sighed. I pressed my lips against her forehead, calming down once again. Glad that it wasn't what I had thought. Caileigh wrapped her arms around me, obviously feeling stupid. I messed with her hair while I spoke.

"I love you, and I love having you right here, but we should get inside", I said, and she sighed. She shook her head. I chuckled quietly and wrapped her legs around my waist. As I stood out of the car, she yelped and put her hands around my neck, clinging to me as to not fall.

I grabbed her butt, hearing her gasp. I laughed as she lightly hit me. I opened the door, and Kassie and Landon looked over at us, worried. Caileigh looked up at me then at them, then back at me once more.

"Put. Me. Down.", She said staring at me evilly. I looked up, as if thinking for a moment, then looked back down at her.

"Nah", she started to pout and I laughed and set her down. She smiled stepping on her tippy toes to kiss me. I kissed her then went back outside to get the bags, excited but also dreading the 2 weeks.
