Jillian stared at the road ahead of her as they drove. The car was silent.

What the fuck was that?

She looked over at Charlie. He had his arm resting against the window and was staring out at the trees as they made their way towards town.

"Why did you do that?" she demanded, unable to hold back anymore. "You just met the guy. Why would you accuse him of slashing your tire?"

Charlie turned to look at her. His eyes were dark and brooding.
"Because I know it was him." he said simply. "I just do."
Jillian snorted.
"How could you possibly know that?" she asked.

"Just do."
He was silent after that, and Jillian was left not knowing what to say. She was embarassed, and annoyed. He had acted like a child, lashing out because-

Because he was trying to hit on me?
"Charlie-"
"Look. I saw him at the bar the other night." he interrupted.
"He was there. Watching you. Maybe he's even the one who keyed your car."
Jillian furrowed her brow.
"You saw him when we were at the bar?" she asked.
"Yeah. I only noticed him because he stared directly at you the entire time."

Jillian rolled this over in her mind.
