I'm still alive but I'm barely breathin'

Just prayed to a God that I don't believe in

'Cause I got time while she got freedom

'Cause when a heart breaks, no, it don't break even

A young girl and boy played within the castle walls, chasing each other around.

The boy had a toy sword in his hands, and the girl had two toy wooden daggers.

They fought, until the girl was called away by her mother.

"Do you have to go?" The young boy whined. "Why do you have to move away?"

"Sorry, Chal. I'm moving to America. My dad said he got a job in New York."

The little boy frowned, but then the girl had an idea.

"Here!" She ran to her bag, which was leaning against a tree. She pulled out a small dagger in a leather pouch. Palm leaves were embroidered onto the hilt in such a way that it provided a strong grip.

"My dad made the blade, and I sewed the handle."

The boy took it into his hands, and tied the pouch onto his weapons belt.

They hugged once more.

"The Black Panther spirit will always protect you, (Y/N)."

You pulled away, and handed him a blueprint for a new suit.

"And now you can protect your people. Happy 11th Birthday, T'Challa."

He smiled, and took the paper, and pulled a small necklace out of his pocket. "I asked my dad if I could give you a going-away present. I picked it out."

A small emerald hung from a golden chain. You gasped, and he placed it in your hand.

"Just remember me... Promise?"

"Will you remember me?"

You asked, holding out your pinky.

He locked his pinky in yours. "I promise."

Her best days were some of my worst

She finally met a man that's gonna put her first

While I'm wide awake she's got no trouble sleeping

'Cause when a heart breaks no it don't break even, no.
