Prologue: Destiel

Dean

"Sammy, you sure you're going to be fine alone?" I ask nervously, I'm having second thoughts about leaving my baby brother home alone, "You know I can stay home with you if you want me to."
Sam sighs dramatically, "Dean, I'm fifteen stop treating me like a child. It's just a fever, I'll be fine. If that changes I'll call you, you know that!"
"I know you're old enough but it's you Sammy, what if something bad happens." He shifts uncomfertably, he's still not over Jess.
"Dean, I'll be fine. Go to school, we don't need you to get in truancy watch again." Sam lightly scolds.
"That's true, I'll be back during lunch to check on you." I sling my back pack over my shoulder running out the door to my car. I throw my bag into the seat beside me, fixing the collar to my jacket. I drive to school.
I'm a senior and Sammy, he's a Sophomore AP/CCP Student, if I want to be honest he could be a Senior. My brother is a genius, he still manages to do other stuff after his homework, if I had as much homework as he does I'd never get it done without his help.
I start to run to the school. I run full force into a disgruntled looking boy with black messy hair, and bright blue eyes.
"Shit! I'm sorry, here let me help you up." I say as I extend my hand.
The boy reluctantly takes it, "Hi I'm Castiel," he says softly barely stuttering.
"Hello Castiel, I'm Dean. I'm new here. I'm rushing to get to the office before class, do you know where it is?"
"Yeah."
"Could you show me?"
"Yeah." Castiel starts walking away I follow him, I stay a few paces behind him.
We walk past a group if kids, jocks and cheeleaders, the preppy kids. They chant out slurs at him, fag, faggot, and queer were heard. I am shocked, he's such a nice boy and he decent looking. He hardly flinched hearing those words, I wanted to beat their asses. My hands twitched into a fist and quickly relaxed, it's only my first day I can't be getting in fights. I'm a good kid.
I ask, "What was that about?"
Cas asks, "You mean the bullying?"
"Yes." I sigh.
"I'm gay." Castiel sighs near tears.
"Oh, that's cool."
"You're not repulsed?" He gulps.
"No, you're just different. The world is made if different people and you've been nothing but nice. Fuck them, you don't need them!"
"You're right, I guess. Friends?"
"Of course!" I smile. Castiel smiles, and when I say smile, I mean he smiled widely, it was suiting and I wanted to see more of it. "So Castiel do you have a nickname?"
"N-no."
"Cas, that's your nickname!"
"Oh, okay. It's a nice name." He chokes out.
"Yeah, what's Cas mean."
"Long story, and it's a story for another time, here's the office."
"Wait for me?" I smirk.
"Fine!" He sighs.
I get mine and Sam's schedule, giving them the note with our dad's forged signature. The lady smiled. "Thanks, Dean. Do you need someone to show you around the school," she says with a smile.
"Uhh, no. A guy named Castiel uhh, I don't know his last name said he would show me around," I finally manage.
"I'll let his teacher know he will be late."
I nod with a smile. I walk back out to where Cas is waiting. "You're showing me around the school, thanks to that very nice Secretary and it was at my request." I smirk. Cas shows me around the school, he looks at my schedule and laughs.
"What is it?" I ask.
"We're in the same class and the only open seat is beside me!" He smiles.
"That's nice."

Every day I fell harder for him, I didn't care because he seemed to love me back. I hoped he really did. Then one he asked me out.
"Wanna, uhh, go out, sometime?" Cas asks, nervous.
I stare at him dumbstruck, I'm shocked.
"Sorry, I didn't, I thought you felt the same way. I didn't mean to put this on you." He says breathlessly, he quickly looks down and turns to walk away. I quickly grab him and pull him back to me, turning him around so he is facing me again.
"No, no Cas. I was shocked! Yes." I say. I quickly grab Cas and pull him into a hug. He nuzzles his face into my neck holding me close.
