Steven's POV-
"Oh come on mom, do I really have to change schools?"
I stared at her as she turned around, arms folding into a shrug.
"Hey, I'm really sorry you have to leave your friends here, but it's for the best! You know that promotion would be great for your father after all. Maybe if we have enough money from the job we can buy you that gaming console you wanted too!"
My eyes widen as a smile bursts onto my face.
"Really, you would!?"
"Yeah! The only thing, of course, is the move to America... but you can still keep in touch with your friends online and you get a new experience at a US school!"
My smile dimmed a bit, but then I beamed.
Maybe it was gonna be fine after all.

That was a month ago, now I am here in California, and very nervous. It's my first day at Shortlake High School tomorrow and I seriously could not feel worse about it.
I guess I don't really have anything to be upset about, I'm just afraid that because I'm new I'd get picked on a lot and have no one want to talk to me. I don't know, is that a stupid fear? I mean, this is everyone else's second year at this school and I'm just waltzing in; knowing nobody.
Maybe it's just me over reacting but I've never had to do this kind of thing before so it's stressing me out.
Suddenly I hear a knock on my bedroom door.
"Steven, you in there?"
"Yeah, I'm in here, you can come in Dad." I mumble.
I hear a slow creak as my Dad's head peaks around the door before he lets himself in my room.
"Hey, I know you're feeling a bit scared at the moment because of school tomorrow; but I just want to tell you that you will be fine. You'll fit in and have a group of friends in no time."
"Yeah, thanks Dad."
He sighs, sitting on the bottom of my bed.
"Well, I also came in here to thank you for taking the news so well. I know it must be hard moving schools like that and I really appreciate that you did it without a massive fuss or anything. You may even be getting that X-Box yet."
I let out a small giggle and look up towards the smiling man.
"Thanks Dad, you always know just what to say."
He gives me a small chuckle before closing the door, leaving me by myself.
Maybe it will be fine after all.

Hey, just wanted to let you know, this will be a ZeRoyalChaos fan fiction. I know it seems slow at first, but hopefully soon I can get to the plot of the story and actually introduce some other characters xD
