Steven's POV-
After going up the stairs, I reach Room 45.
The door was ajar and the lights were on inside, so I just wandered in. As soon as I walked in a few people turned around, confusion evident on their faces as they did so.
However, only a fraction of the class seemed to be in at the time, so I decided to sit at the back and try to blend in, hoping I didn't have to embarrass myself by being introduced to the whole class.
After a few minutes, the bell rang for the second time and a couple more people entered the room. Finally, a tall man with very short dark hair and blue eyes came in, wearing a casual shirt and jeans.
"Hey everyone, welcome back to Shortlake High. My name's Mr Sark, though you all should really know that by now. Hope you guys had a great summer!" He said, still strolling to the front of the classroom before stopping at his desk.
"Now, I know you all wanna go to lessons as fast as possible so you can go home and do whatever you do, but I have a few announcements so just wait."
He glances at a piece of paper then scans the room for a moment before his eyes land on me.
"Ah, yes, you!" He announces, pointing in my direction, "Come up to the front."
I look over to him and hesitate before getting out of my seat and slowly walking next to him. His hands fall onto my shoulders for a brief second before letting go.
"Class, this is Steven. He's going to be in our homeroom now- so don't be asses and just talk to him, ok?"
Giving me a sympathetic look, he gives me a little push forward.
"Tell the class something about you, Steven."
All of a sudden I feel everyone's eyes on me. Oh God, this is the only thing I didn't want to happen today.
"I- uh... My name's S-Steven and I'm from Canada." I mumble, looking down at my feet before looking up again, surprised to see mostly empathetic faces looking back at me.
"Ok, thanks Steven, you can go back to your seat now."
I nod towards him briefly then stride back to my seat, feeling really self conscious.
Next thing I know, I hear a British voice to the right of me.
"Hey Steven, you ok?"
I turn to the voice and see a smiley girl. Her brown hair complimented her pale skin and light brown eyes, while the long purple streaks either side of her face fell neatly above her shoulders. For some strange reason, I felt quite at ease when she talked to me.
"Ah yeah, don't worry, I'm fine. Just don't really like speaking in front of people, you know?"
She chuckles then replies.
"Oh God yeah, I remember when I had to do the exact same thing! This time last year I had to move from London to California- so I get what you're going through. My name's Michelle by the way, but everyone just calls me Minx."
We kept on chatting for almost 10 minutes straight; laughing at each other's jokes and stories.
"Hey, well if you want you can sit at lunch with me and my friends? I mean we basically have the same sense of humour so you guys would get on pretty well," she suggests.
"Thanks Minx, really appreciate that," I shyly grin.
Then I hear Mr Sark's voice speak up out of no where, which seemed odd, seeing as though he let everyone just talk the whole time so far.
"Wait, guys it seems that there should be another student joining us, not just Steven."
Wait what? Another student?
The whole class look around in confusion for a second.
Suddenly I hear the door to the classroom slam shut and everyone looks in that direction.
"Heyy... Uh, sorry I'm late. Did I miss the party or what?"
