"Mommy, I wanna ride the horsie!!!!"

Ahhhh. The Santa Monica Pier. I've always wanted to come here. There's just something about the little kids, the lights, the laughter, that makes me... well...

Smile.

"I knew you'd love it." Collin says smiling down at me.

"Why wouldn't I. I've wanted to come here for ages. It's always been a dream of mine." I said.

"Well, WHY THE FRACK ARE WE STANDING HERE!!" I said whilst dragging Collin to the Pier Shop and Visitor Center to pick up a map.

"I wanna do everything on this map, whether it's eating, shopping, barfing or screaming."

"Well I know one thing I can help you do." Collin said while winking at me.

"Keep your perverted comments to yourself little boy. " I said while smacking his shoulder

He started leaning in for a kiss, so I closed my eyes and waited for the sparks, but just as our lips were about to touch, his mouth moved to my ear."

"Oh, nothing about me is little." he whispered

"Perv." I said as I smacked him repeatedly with the map, as he shook with laughter.

I dragged him over to the first roller coaster in sight.

Our day consisted of my brightened face with a huge smile on it, and Collin's face well...

Green.

" I didn't know they would go up so high and so fast. They should tell us before we get on." Collin said while I sat him down.

" Well Collin, I think they expected us to use our eyes before we got on." I said laughing.

"I'm sorry." he sighed, " I ruined our date."

"Nothing about our date is ruined, there's still the carousel, and the games, and the food! I mean what's bad about food?" I said with a chuckle.

"Food, sounds good. I mean, if that's what you want to do." He said with a small grin.

" I'd want nothing more, I said while dragging him off to a place called the Albright.

Due to the fact that I'm 7 inside, I ordered the first friendly thing I saw on the menu.

Chicken Tenders and Fries.

And apparently I'm not the only 7 year old.

"I'll have that too." Colin said while looking at me with the biggest smile on his face.

Then out of nowhere I felt something weird in the pit of my stomach. I couldn't place it though. It felt as if my insides were just running around and jumping all over the place. I almost wished it would stop.

Key word.

Almost.

----------------------------------------------------------

The rest of our evening consisted of me dragging Colin around as I tried to get him to win a bunch of stuffed animals. So far he won me a Panda, a banana with a smiley face and a dolphin.

It was such a sight to see all of the street dancers and performers, and to see people like us, just so focused on each other as if there was no one else around.

Eventually Colin needed to rest his feet, due to the fact that I was literally pulling him as I ran to each booth.

We sat down on a nearby bench. We were lucky, it was one of the only ones unoccupied, but a couple had just left. That only means one thing.

Warm Seats.

When we sat down, I laid my head on his chest.

"Can I ask you a question" I asked

"You just did." Collin said with a small chuckle

I gave him a look that let him know I was serious, and he said sure.

" Why don't you let people see the real you?" I said faintly.

Collin sighed before answering, "People see what they want to see, instead of actually looking. That's what's so special about you." He said looking down at me.

"You saw the real me."

We just sat there loosing our self in each others eyes.

" You know, although most of the things here scare me half to death, The Ferris Wheel doesn't look so bad." Colin said.

" Really? You don't mind?"

" Anything my baby wants."

I couldn't help but feel all giddy over his new nickname for me. Maybe this relationship won't be so bad after all.

Colin stood up slowly, and held out his hand for me to hold. With a small smile, I placed my hand in his, and you wouldn't believe.

It was a perfect fit.

We walked slowly, hand in hand until we reached the Ferris wheel. When it was finally our turn, Colin and I both climbed into a cart.

When the ride began we slowly began rising, farther and farther from the ground.

When our cart began to rock, I just knew Colin wasn't okay.

He was gripping my hand tightly and we went around the wheel. As we began to recede back to the ground, Colin began to relax, and he unbuckled his safety belt.

" What are you doing?" I said with a small smile.

" I'm getting ready to get out." he said as if it was the most obvious thing on the planet.

" We have to go around two more times." I said with a chuckle.

"What?!" Colin began to slowly but surely freak out.

"I could barely do it once, how a I supposed to survive three times?!?!"

" Colin! You need to relax, your shaking the cart. Look at me."

He didn't listen.

"Colin! Look at me!" All of his hyperventilating ended.

" I've got you." I said looking into his eyes.

I began to lean in, looking at him to make sure it was okay.

He nodded, and just as we reached the top for the last time

We kissed.
