Arcoiries laid down on the lush hill behind his grandparents home in the county and sighed; bored. The sun was lowing, and the animals started going into the barn.

"I need to see her again. It's been months and I can't get her out of my mind," thought Arcoiries as he threw a baseball up in the air and caught it again. As he kept tossing it and catching it, his mind wandered. "She said she'd be my friend, but she hasn't come back. Not even once. Maybe she lied." He sat up and the wind played with his hair. He looked down at the city from the hill and sighed. "She lives in the next town over but I can't cross the boundary. I can't get across with out being seen. I wonder how she did it," He stood up and let gravity lead his body down the hill. He headed to the front door of the house. Once he got there he gave one last look the sun before saying, "looks like I'm going to break a few laws." He smirked to himself before heading inside.

Kuroh was doing homework in her room. Empty except her closet, bed, desk and dresser. The dim light emitting from her desk lamp bounced off the monochromic colored items in the room. Her eyes were focused on the paper, and the pencil was being gripped tighter and tighter.

Problem 1

"When did this become so difficult, usually I can do this in my sleep. Yet I've been staring at this problem for over an hour. Why can't I focus like I use to...," she thought when suddenly Arcoiries popped into her mind and she snapped the pencil. "What the hell is wrong with me!? It's been 3 months and 4 days. I can't see him again. Why can't I forget,"she thought holding her head. She stood up and opened her door. "Maybe I just need to move around a bit," she thought as she walked through her dimly lit apt. Her family lived a basic 3 bedroom apt. The only light came through the few windows with partly opened blinds. It was almost as if they were just guests in the apartment with no decorations on the walls, or floors. She walked into the kitchen to see a note placed between the salt and the pepper near the middle of the table.

Went out. Study, do chores, and prepare dinner.
~Love Mother

"Love Mother? When will Father stop signing his notes like this. Like Mother gives a crap about me....," she sighed. She walked to the kitchen window and peeked outside. People servants to work. Like ants marching back to there queen. She saw the setting sun and closed the blinds. "I wonder if Arco could make it rise again," she mumbled, yet she couldn't erase the smile forming on her face.

Kuroh slowly walked back to her room and finished her homework. Then did her chores, finally ending with dinner. Her parents returned at midnight from the office, and as usual Kuroh ate alone.

Arcoiries walked to his room dodging the little kids running past and the labrador trying to get attention. Such a lively household. Everything was washed in pigment. From paintings to elaborate floral decorations. "Arcoiries! Dinner," called his mother. "I'm skipping mom! I need to be up early for school," he called down. "Fine but I don't want to hear complaining," she yelled back. "Hard to get any piece and quiet in this place. 3 Brothers and a labrador retriever. It's like a zoo in here," he chuckled to himself.
