My eyes slowly creep open as I wake up, sitting idle in an elavator as I am transported down and down into RedCo. How long have I been out for? I have no clue. I examine the walls of the elavator and notice nothing but the cold steel and glass that makes up the inside. I yawn. Another look around leaves me wondering how far down I will have to go until the elavator stops and I can begin doing what I signed up for. What did I sign up for? I sighed and tried hard to remember. Blank. I'd never been all to good with remembering things. After awhile I'll remember, but for now I am stuck with knowing where I am; RedCo. RedCo. RedCo. A little bell goes off, signaling that I have arrived. I stand up and look toward the door and see it slowly slide open. I step out and examine my newest surroundings. The room I'm in appears to be a giant vertical cylinder. On most of the lower half of the wall were observation rooms, most of which were completely empty. To the front of me was a huge number twelve displayed in paint across the wall. Beneath the number was a small hallway heading away from the room. Over the intercom static played, before a large bleep and the sounds of muttering scientists. "If you would please, step forward and say your name. " I stepped forward. "My name is Del Landmen. " I waited for the next command. "Where did you live? " I paused. Where did I live? I thought for a little while longer. "I don't remember. Sorry. " I looked towards the nearest observation room. There was only one man, old, slightly shorter than me. He stared down towards me, a pity look spread across his face. He leaned forward and pointed to the hallway. I looked that way and started walking down it. "Be careful in these next tests: They require much memory. " The scientists started to laugh, blush growing against my cheeks. I looked back one last time to where the short man had been. The room was empty, the door swinging shut. I kept walking until I hit a door at the end of the hallway. I paused a moment, waiting to see if the door would open. "It's motion detected. " I jumped and looked around, only just realizing the observation rooms from before extended down the hall. I see the man in one, talking into a microphone. "Well? Go on through! " I quickly approached the door, slightly surprised to see it open, before going on through. The room was brightly lit, blue, and this time was square and small. A quick glance around shows a three by three square display to my left, a three by three panel of switches to my right, and a countdown timer above the door in front of where I was now standing. I looked to the wall where the entrance door was situated and saw a small window leading to yet another small observation room, with this time a young, tall man with short brown hair and a lab coat. The young man readjusted his glasses before speaking into an intercom. "Every ten seconds that display will flash a pattern. You just have to recreate that pattern using those switches." I nodded my head to show him I understood. I turned around and saw ten seconds on the clock, quickly ticking down. I saw the display flash - top right, bottom right, center left...
