As soon as I got done walking through the door, I ended up in another room. This one had a switch on the wall and another elevator in the center of it. I stumbled towards the switch, as my eyes did not yet adjust to the room's lighting, or lack thereof. I hit the switch and was nearly blinded as the overhead lights flashed on. When my eyes got done burning, I looked around to see that the elevator had arrived. I stepped in and it began to take me up. About halfway to the top, the elevator shuddered and slowed to a near crawl. "I'm going to get you out of here safely. Don't worry. This next test chamber should do it." I jumped. To whom did this gruff voice belong to? Anyways, I went ahead and sat down. A couple minutes later, the elevator began its way back up. I got to my destination quickly and went into the next test chamber. Around me was a large room with lava as parts of the floor, hidden inside of deep pits. To my left was a switch, to my right a board. There was an exit door far to the front of the chamber, with no access to it due to the lava pits. I looked at the board and saw it correlated with certain pits. I flicked the switch and the board turned off, meanwhile glass platforms began to seal the pits. Curiously, I took off my shoes and threw one into a spot that was marked by the board. The shoe was just sitting on the glass. I threw my other shoe onto a part that wasn't marked. The shoe fell through. Now that I'm down one shoe, I went across the marked areas and made it to the exit door. The door didn't open. I looked back to the entry door and saw it was closed. Above it I saw the old and young man in an observation room, both trying seemingly to break the glass. "Are you going to open the door or not?" They appeared to be too busy to answer my question. I sat down and watched them try to desperately break the glass. After what felt like hours, they finally hefted a filing cabinet through the glass and had given me a way out. I navigated my way back and hopped into the observation room. I grinned. I felt a strange feeling inside myself... longing. I was about to be free.
