“Uh, no,” I answered confused, “I'm just heading home. Why?”

“A big party just came in and they saw you walk back here and requested you as their server,” she explained, “do you mind tending to them?” I shook my head and she smiled.

“Not at all,” I said with a smile, “tell them that I'll be right out, I just have to get dressed again.” Her face lit up as she nodded and walked back out of the room.

I turned back to my locker and quickly got redressed. I honestly didn't mind taking the order. If they had requested me, that probably meant that they were going to tip me well. Besides, I also get paid for overtime. It's not like I had anywhere else to be, so why not make some more cash?

I tied my apron around my waist and walked out of the room, going straight to the big unattended table. I tied my hair back up as I walked over to them with a big smile on my face. I noticed that the party was all made up of members of the Redmoon Pack. They were all fairly young, about my age and the majority of them were guys. Yeah, I should get a good tip from these guys.

“Hi,” I said flashing them a smile, “my name's Riley and I'll be your server tonight. What can I get all of you to start off with?”

Everyone gave me an order for something to drink, but I was slightly distracted by a weird feeling in my chest. It was like this desperate need to get closer to the table. I ignored it as I went around the table taking orders.

“I'll just have a water,” an unexplainably sexy voice said. I looked up to the voice to see the most attractive guy I have ever seen.

He had tousled, long blonde hair with dark brown roots. He had a thin, pointed face, his jawline jagged and his chin blunt. His cheekbones were so prominent that his cheeks looked shallowed where the light cast shadows down on him. His lips were long and thin, a pale pink color and desirably moist. His eyes were a greenish blue color, and as I looked closer, I saw golden streaks inside of them.

My wolf howled from inside of me, trying to take over as she looked the sex god up and down. I had her screaming at me from the back of my mind, “mate! Mate,” but I ignored her, shaking it off and writing down his drink order on my pad of paper. I took the rest of the tables order and quickly made my way to the kitchen.

I took a deep breathe, trying to clear my mind as I realized what had just happened. I had found my mate. He was right in the other room, sitting there probably freaking out as well as me, and I just walked away from him. My wolf whimpered in the back of my mind and I knew that I'd have to explain to her.

Mate she whinned. I swear, sometimes she acts more like a three year old.

We can't give up our cover. If we admit that he's our mate, everyone will know that I'm not a human and they'll figure out that we're a rouge.

What's wrong with that she growled, getting defensive.

Do you not remember hearing about the Redmoon Alpha? He hates rouges. He's done awful things to wolves like us. We can't risk it.

But, what about our mate? What's he going to do?

He's not going to want a rouge either. We're better off having him think that I'm human if you want him to like us. I'm sure their whole pack hates rouges. He'll be sure to reject us if he knew the truth.

My wolf growled at me as I said the last part, she refused to believe that our mate would reject us. I growled back at her, showing her that I wasn't afraid. Yeah. Only I would be having a growling match with myself.

He won't reject us she said stubbornly.

Well we'll see. For now we'll just see what he does while he thinks I'm human. Maybe he'll still want to hang out with us. But he definitely won't if you show yourself so stay quiet.

I heard as she sighed at me but didn't argue.

I quickly made up everyone's drinks and brought them over to the table. I began setting the drinks down on the table, having to lean forward to reach the opposite end. A low growl erupted from my mate. I looked over at him to see that his eyes had turned a jet black color and he was looking down my slightly unbuttoned shirt. A blush crept to my face and I straightened up, watching as his eyes shirted back to their regular color.

“Are you guys ready to order,” I asked trying to act like nothing had happened, because a human wouldn't have heard that growl.

“Um, yeah,” one guy said, “I'll have a burger with everything on it.”
