The next morning, I woke not to the sun, but my phone ringing. I groaned, digging through my pocket to fish it out. "Mmmh... Yea'?"

"Jack," It was Felix and his voice sounded urgent. I sat up. "Felix? What's wrong, are ya okay?!"

"I'm fine, but look. Hide your Google. The company wants to do a complete recall on all bots. Apparently that glitch is worse then they thought. Someone's trying to hack the mainframe or something like that."

I was confused, sleepily rubbing my eyes. "Who?"

"I don't know. Just, hide your Google."

"Alright, will do."

"It would probably be good to pack for a few days and get out of the country, too. I know Arin has a Google and he's already offered me a room, so maybe he can do the same for you?"

This had to be a dream, right? I mean, it all seemed to jumble together. And being told to leave my home? All of this was following a really bad movie plot line. "Yea', you've got it."

"Be safe, man. See you in America."

"See ya." I hung up, fumbling to my closet.

I don't know what pressed me to leave. Maybe it was the urgency in Felix' voice. Or maybe it was a looming suspicion something else was going on. All that mattered was I was focusing on getting out. I stuffed enough clothes in my bag to last me at least a week before slinging it over my shoulder. I tugged on my shoes and a hoodie, slipping down the stairs, moving to stand in front of Google. How the hell was I supposed to sneak him into an airport terminal?

The metal and wires in him would get us dinged faster then anything in those stupid metal detectors. I guess, though, we could cross that bridge when we got to it.

"Google, power on." His eyes opened, but they glowed a dull white color, the green light around him doing the same. A crackling screen hovered between us.

"H-h-hello?"

It was the same voice I'd been hearing over the past few days, crackling like the person on the other side didn't have a good connection. I yelped in surprise.

"W-who are you?" I stammered out. My eyes were  wide. While the screen showed nothing, I assumed that's where the voice was coming from.

"I-I-I'm... M-Mark." The source of the voice was coming from this great engineer everyone spoke about so highly?

"Yer the Head Engineer?"

There was a broken laugh. "I see y-y-you've... Done your research. Look, I d-d-don't have much time before I'm... F-f-forced out of th-th-the system, so p-p-pay attention. Y-y-you need to try t-t-to get into the... Corporation building."

I swallowed. "I can't do that! I'll be kicked out as soon as I step in!"

"C-c-cool your jets, zippy, let m-m-me finish. I was g-g-going to... S-s-say, you could get i-i-in at night. I c-c-can export the building layout and g-g-guard shifts to your G-G-Google moduel."

This was literally like a James Bond 'break the bank' kind of story. "Why do you need me, though?"

"B-b-because--" There was a loud crashing in the background and a cry of agony.

"Mark?!"

"H-h-hurry..." Mark's deep voice was contorted with pain. "C-c-come find me. W-w-we're counting on you." And with that, the screen disappeared. Google's eyes returned to normal, the glow around him turning green again instead of milky white. I shook my head.
