//Good God, I feel so fucking lazy XD Oml, I'm sorry guys. So much shit keeps cropping up, so I'm doing my damnedest to keep everything under wraps. We just got our internet back after losing it for like 6 days, I guess. That and I've been so brain dead because school is just draining me. Yes, I'm still updating my other two stories, but I just can't think of any way to progress the plots in either, so I'm just stuck staring at my ceiling and feeling like a failure. No... I take that back, that's every day of my life.

Either way, yes, I am still alive, I promise. Updates should be back to being as frequent as they normally were as well, so yay, I guess. Anyway, there's my bitching/excuse, so that's all you have to put up with, I promise. XD

Much love,

~D//

Everyone froze. Now, it is said, in life or death situations, your life flashes before your eyes. I'm going to come up front about this, it's not exactly flashing as it is your life hits you like a semi truck of memories, regret and emotions. And, maybe it was just me, it's over in seconds. In those couple of seconds, everyone had turned, so we were all now faced with a security guard aiming a gun directly at us. Oh, joy, how fun this was. "You know you're not supposed to be out of the bio tubes, boys." The guard's voice was gruff. I looked over to see Dan pale like he was going to be sick and Ken who's shoulders shook slightly. I was battling with my own mortality while I felt Mark tense under me.

"Now, I hate to do this," The guy's shit eating grin proved he didn't, "But, since you've escaped and I don't know how to work those fancy shmancy tubes and the holding cells are all full, I'm gonna have to put you boys down for this one." Before, I thought my heart stopped. Now, it was thundering loudly against my rib cage and I'm sure Mark felt it. "Now, let's not get too irrational here." Mark stated cooly, his voice somehow not breaking or faltering. How? I had no clue. "Irrational?" The guard chuckled. "You should've thought about being irrational before you escaped. You boys know the polices and rules as well as I do."

Mark carefully set me down, pushing me behind him as he started stepping towards the man. What the hell was he doing?! "Well, if that's the case, you can let these other three go. I'm the one you want, after all." The guard shook his head. "While I can kill you first and get it over with, I'm not allowed to just let you boys free. According to the Corp, you know too much." The guard clicked the safety off on the gun, his finger on the trigger as he aimed it at Mark's head. Mark acted completely unfazed as his hands slowly went up. He glanced back at us with a small grin and a wink before turning back to the guard.

"Then go ahead." He stated simply. The guard shook his head. "As you wish." I grabbed Dan's arm, burying my face in his shoulder. I didn't want to watch Mark get murdered. But, instead of the report of a pistol being fired, there was a soft click. "What the?" I looked up to see Mark still standing with his brains still in his head and the guard squeezing the trigger on his gun, eyebrows furrowed. "No, what the hell?! I know I loaded this thing!" Mark chuckled softly. That son of a bitch, the gun had been jammed! The guard looked up at Mark like he was going to say something, only for a loud thwap to fill the air.

Mark stepped to the side with an eyebrow raised as the guard fell forward. A guy, panting heavily like he had just run a marathon, with a huge textbook gripped over his head, stood in his place. He then relaxed, hands falling to his sides, looking up at Mark with a dimpled grin. "Hey-ya, jailbird." The guy had a sweep of black hair, black gauges in his ears, along with dark brown, almost black eyes shielded behind thick rimmed glasses. He wore a simple lab coat with a black shirt and pants. Mark grinned as he looked over. "Nate, right on time, as always." Everyone released the breath we had all been holding. I wanted to hug and punch that infuriating, sexy- ...Woah, hold on brain. Sexy?! Where the hell did that come from?! I blushed heavily at the thought as Mark moved back to my side.
