An avalanche of words launched from her mouth, strings and strings of it. Poison in the air. It grated against his ears as he roared hoarsely, beating the flames down. Her clenched fists pounded against his chest as tears streamed from her eyes, steady and strong. The devil's advocate whispered in her ear, telling her to kill, to torture the one who had tortured her so much.

Worthless. All purpose had been sucked from her, and any motivation and happiness had been wrung out of her. She felt dry and empty, an arid desert. Alone and gasping, living but not really living.

'Why! Why did you do that? Why her?" The girl's shrill pierced the air, winding tension's string even tighter.

The boy's mouth gaped, but nothing came out. Emotions and thoughts bubbled in his head, threatening to detonate and make everything worse.

'But I don't love you...'  A crack and his head turned, his cheeks cerise and his teeth chattered.

'You idiot!' She screeched as her tears fell even thicker; her eyes puffy and her breath unsteady like the sea's turbulent waves.

His eyes were caked in cement and his lip were wilted leaves. guilt. pain. suffering.
