"better now?" callum asks as i pull away, sniffling slightly.
"y-yeah.. i'm sorry for being like this." i motion to myself with a sad chuckle, and he smiles, shaking his head before pressing a kiss to my forehead.
"don't be sorry babe, it happens to the best of us." he sighs, and i nod.
he then pats my bum, and i begin to walk towards the fire, noticing the roasting sticks were warming up in the fire.
"move your chair over here love." callum chuckles, so i smile, heaving a breath as i drag my chair closer to him.
he opens up the small, extendable table off the side of his chair, placing the hot dogs, buns and condiments on it.
"shit, forgot to grab beer." he hisses, but i laugh, pressing my hand to his chest.
"sit, i'll grab it." i say, and he sighs.
"thanks baby." he blows me a kiss, causing me to giggle.
i open the hatch on the car, grabbing the alcohol cooler and dragging it back to the fire, but not before closing the hatch once again.
i roll it beside our chairs, opening it up, a gust of cold air finding its way into the open world. i pull out two guinness beers, placing them alongside the dinner material.
"thanks love." he thanks, before cracking his can open and taking a sip of the strong beer.
i mutter a return, before reaching for the roasting sticks, handing one to callum. i place a hot dog onto the end, before placing it over the fire.
everything felt so at peace. it was quiet and cold, though the crackling of the fire and the chirping of the grasshoppers made me feel at ease. not to mention, the beautiful human next to me.
"i know i thank you all the time, but seriously, thank you for taking me on this trip. i'm gonna remember it for the rest of my life, and you sure as hell didn't have to take me.. you have other... stuff... to be dealing with." i admit, and he scoffs.
"harry. i'm not dying. i'm alright. see? i can still chug beer!" he exclaims, guzzling the beer down quickly.
i laugh and yell at him to stop, but he persists. at once, he finally dropped the can, releasing a large belch.
"shit man, maybe that wasn't such a good idea." he laughs, and i shake my head, snorting softly.
"dumbass." i mutter playfully.
we finally finished cooking the meat, eating it in silence. callum ate one more, where i ate no more. i didn't want to explode, even if i was very hungry still.
"harry." callum breaks my aimless gaze at the ground, causing me to look up with a hum.
"eat another, i know you're hungry." he sighs, and i shake my head.
"s'alright." i smile, rejecting his offer.
"harry... eat this one." he made my hit dog exactly how i liked it, handing it to me.
i sigh, slowly eating it as he makes his.
"why are you in love with me?" i ask suddenly, and he scoffs.
"because you are an amazing human i can see a future with? you have everything i need and want and so much fucking more." he explains, gaping at my question.
"i dunno how i got so lucky..." i mutter.
"i dunno either." he shrugs, before smiling.
"i fucking love you callum."
"and i fucking love you, harry."
