Chapter 1
Gaming into Reality
Brendan's P.O.V
I rested my head on the backrest of the leather armchair.
My blond bangs hung in front of my face, I blew at them lightly till they shifted to the sides of my head.
Hair is so troublesome, maybe I should shave?
Wait, no.
That requires effort.
It was the last day of the weekend and it was already sucking.
Both my parents were out and my brother 'mysteriously' disappeared to the 'grocery' store.
What a lie, my brother and I knew well that Game Central was right next to the grocery store.
Luckily, our parents were too busy to notice where Flynn had been disappearing every day of the week.
Well, I suppose we were lucky that our family lived so close to one of the most popular gaming stores in America.
"Maybe I should've gone with him." I muttered, sighing once again.
Ah, this was a boring day.
Flynn's P.O.V
"Games here! Games there! Games fudging everywhere!" I shouted out loud, running circles around all the aisles of games. The store had all kinds of games and also a spot where you could try any game on any console till closing time! That's what I come for.
I noticed a group of huffy teens were hogging my favorite game consoles, so I shrugged it off and went to look for another to play. In the far edge, a white machine was sitting lightly on a table. Untouched, and unused.
"What's this?" I asked, as I approached the console casually picking up a controller. "Wii.." I mumbled, reading the top of the package. I was just about to turn it on when someone pushed me on the back.
"Eh?" I said briefly.
It was Brendan, my older brother. He stared down at me with a slight smile.
"Bro, our parents will be home in like ten minutes. If you aren't home, I'd have to tell them where you keep running off to everyday." he explained, his amber eyes glancing elsewhere as he imagined the horror of their parents rage.
No Internet!
No Games!
No Fun!
I shuddered. "Aww.. Okay, let's go home."
As I got ready to leave, a man with a ginger-colored beard and a white suit approached us. "Hello. I've seen your interest in our new product?" he smiled, offering us to shake his hand.
Brendan shifted his gaze to the bearded man "We don't have time for advertising, pops." he said plainly, my brother never thinks before he speaks.
That's what makes him funny.
"No no. We currently need testers for the console and you both seem like the best type of person. So how about it? Absolutely free, then send your feedback." he smiled, staring at me then Brendan.
