I spent the rest of the train journey staring at him but making sure to turn away when he looked; he must have known because whenever our eyes did meet it was for no more than a second and they seemed even more lifeless and cold each time our eyes met. Time passed quickly and before I knew it I had arrived in Scotland; I stood up and looked around for the icey-eyed boy- Connor or whatever he was called- but he was nowhere to be seen. Surely he wouldn’t just run off without getting his headphones back? I mean, was I really that bad that he decided to buy new ones instead of talk to me again? As I strode away from the train I heard that heart stopping low voice again from behind me “you know they were not a gift?” he said, this time his voice was louder and his full accent could be heard.

“I’m sorry,” I cried, “I thought you had gone and-“

“So you decided to steal them when I wasn’t looking?” his brows creased together as he questioned me,

“No I just- I’m sorry, here have them back, I never meant to take them” I spoke and placed them in his hand making sure not to make eye contact and turned away. As I spun his cold large hand grabbed my wrist firmly, not enough to hurt me but enough to know that I couldn’t walk away from him; there were those sparks again. “A ‘thank you’ would be nice” he spat. What the hell was with this guy? He was stupidly attractive but he had such a cold personality.

“Thank you,” I said in a strong, firm voice; almost an angry tone but making sure not to show it too much, I couldn’t be bothered fighting with this guy. I pulled my hand from his grip and walked out of the train station to where I had arranged to meet Rachael. Amongst the crowds there she was, running over to me with her arms wide and a huge grin on her face, she enclosed me in the tightest and strongest hug before screaming “I’m so happy that you’re finally here!” causing me to pull away from the tight embrace and cover my ear in pain. “Sorry,” she giggled “I’m just excited that I’m finally meeting you!” she smiled, I grinned back before pulling her into another tight hug and whispering “me too” into her ear, “come on,” she said, “let’s get your stuff in the car.”
