Your worn (f/c) converses squeaked against the polished floor, the single duffle bag slung over your shoulder. A five hour drive from London to this small town was enough to make you collapse onto the nearest bed. But you had to climb three flights of stairs to get to your newly rented apartment. Sighing, you walked up the stairs and stopped at apartment 312. As you were about to unlock it, the door next to yours opened to reveal a brunette wearing a green hoodie. He noticed you, smiling.
"Hello. You must be our new neighbor." He said as you set your bag down.
"Yup. I'm (y/n). You are?" You asked.
"Edd." He introduced himself.
"Nice to meet you. I gotta get inside, start unpacking." You excused yourself, unlocking the door and pushing it open.
"I can help, if ya like." He offered, grabbing your duffle bag.
"That would be great." You said, entering the small yet cozy apartment. He followed, your new life off to a great start.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~After everything was unpacked, you and Edd sat in your living room drinking tea. Well he drank cola, you were the one with the tea.
"Thanks for the help." You said, setting the tea cup down.
"It's no problem. I wish the others were home so they could've helped."
"Others?" Now that peaked your interest.
"Yeah. I know three other guys who live on this floor."
"Who are they?" You asked.
"Well, there's Matt, who doesn't get out much. Tord who has anger management issues, and Tom who just keeps to himself. Tord and Tom live together and Matt lives with me."
"Does Tom and Tord live across from me?"
"Yup. Don't worry, they won't bother you." When he said that, there was a knock at your door. You got up, answering it. You expected an older lady giving you cookies, but you did not expect a demon. Before the shriek left you, he clamped a hand over your mouth and pushed you inside. He closed the door and took his hand off.
"What the hell?" You turned to Edd, who was unfazed by this.
"(Y/n), this is Tord."
"He's a..."
"The proper term is Demon." He crossed his arms, his tail swishing back and forth.
"Are you-" you began to ask Edd but he shook his head.
"Edd's the only human in our group." Tord said.
"So Matt and Tom?" You asked.
"Matt's a vampire." Edd answered.
"What?!" You asked incredulous.
"Oh don't get me started on Tom. He can turn into a monster." Tord sighed.
"A monster?" You gulped.
"Not right now, obviously." Edd said.
"So... You three are monsters. But no one questions you when you go out?"
"Edd's the one who does our shopping. He was supposed to today, but he never came over." Tord looked at Edd, who shrugged.
"Sorry."
"You're impossible." Tord sighed as the door opened to reveal a boy with spikey hair and black eyes. His blue hoodie was patched in places, like he lost a fight with a fence.
"Tom! This is-"
"Don't care. We have a problem."
"A problem?"
"Matt's gone."
"Oh dear. Let's go find him." Edd sighed.
"I'll help." You said.
"(Y/n), you don't have to." Edd said.
"I want to." You nodded.
"It's dangerous."
"Oh please, I can handle myself."
"Sure you can." Tord muttered as he followed Edd out the door, you not far behind.
