Tom
Every day is a battle for me. Ever since that monster turned me into this, I struggle to keep my sanity. I fight the urge to hurt the one I marked.
(Y/N)...
She just burst into our lives, and I had to grab her, thus marking her. I could unmark her, but the pain would probably kill her. I looked over at Edd, who was putting away the book he showed to (y/n).
"Tom, we need to discuss our game plan."
"What?" I asked.
"You know, what we plan on doing about (y/n). You're the one who marked her, dummy."
"First off, it was an accident. Secondly-"
"Marking can't be an accident. It's a sacred act that had been passed down-" Edd started to say, but I cut him off like he had done to me.
"I don't care. Look, I feel the urge to either protect her, or hurt her. It's either way." I said, turning away from him.
"Tom, we both know that the monster isn't you. And you're not the monster." Edd told me.
"That doesn't make any sense." I sighed, crossing my arms.
"Sure it does. Your human side, and your monster side are separate."
"But it's a part of me." I argued.
"Perhaps, but it's a part that you can lock away."
"Easier said than done. Remember when I terrorized the city and you had to turn into PowerEdd to stop me?"
"Yes. But I can control PowerEdd. Matt can control his vampire urges."
"I can't control it, Edd!" I yelled, Edd paling. Tord ran in not a minute later, getting ready to restrain me like always. Edd's hair flashed green before he transformed into PowerEdd.
I growled before pushing past Tord and running up to the roof where I could escape. Once alone, I growled loudly at the empty night sky.
"I thought I'd find you here." (Y/n)'s voice hit my ears, I sighing and facing her. Her short (h/c) hair whipping in the wind and her (e/c) eyes looking into mine. When I didn't say anything, she continued to speak.
"I, um.. Heard some noise from my room, so I went next door to check it out. And you know, help."
"Tch. Help."
"Edd said you'd be here. So here I am."
"Why?"
"Like I said, I heard-"
"No, why this apartment building? Why this floor?"
"I don't know. But something drew me to it." She sighed, walking to me.
"Look, I wasn't being fair to you. So let's try this again. I'm Tom. The monster across the hall." He said.
"I'm (y/n), the less than normal girl across the hall." She smiled, taking his outstretched hand. Edd and Tord watched over them, happy that Tom finally found someone.
