I am woken up by Max, who was jumping on the bed, "What happened?"
"It's already eight. You have one hour to get ready!" He yells.
"Holy mother of—" I get up with a start, "The concert was tiring."
"Get up and take a shower." Max picks me up. Yes, he can also pick me up, why.
"Geez, dad. Chill." I say.
"You're grounded." Max laughs.
I quickly take a shower and change while Max made me a sandwich. "Bye."
"Get out!"
He loves me.
----
I look at my watch. 9:10am.
I run inside the building and see a really pretty woman standing in a skirt and a blue blouse, "Phoenix?
"Sorry, I am late."
"It's only 10 minutes, hon. Don't repeat it." Jennifer smiles. Damn, she was pretty. "You were at a concert?"
"Yeah, my uncles had invited me." I reply.
"Uncles?"
"Pete, Patrick, Joe and Andy." I say.
"They are your uncles!" She exclaims and opens my file, "You are Dallon Weekes' daughter. I should have known."
"Please don't tell anyone." I say.
"Yeah sure and call me Jen." She smiles and leads me in. "This is Tom, he is the supervisor, but below me in rank."
"Hey." I wave and he simply smiles.
She finally leads me to a small desk, "So, some days might be difficult because you are new. But you will have fun also."
"Thanks." I smile.
"You might also be sent to some countries for clicking pictures." She says.
"Really?"
"Yeah, but not now. Maybe in a couple of months." Jennifer smiles.
"Um, okay."
"Cool. Have fun, set your desk right and I'll be back in sometime." She says and walks away.
----
I put a couple of things on the desk. A photo of our graduation day, I already miss Levi.
"So, it's true." Tom approaches me.
"What's true?"
"That you are Dallon Weekes' daughter."
"Was it a rumor?" I say, making him laugh.
"No, just asking. Did you drop out of college?" He asks.
"Never went."
"Whoa, you are one of the first ones to get a job here without going to college." Tom says.
"I am going to take that as a compliment." I say.
"It was supposed to be one." He laughs, "Is that you family?"
"Yeah." I smile.
"It's going to be fun having you around." Tom smiles and drags his chair back to his place.
"Hey, Phoenix. Coffee or tea?" Jennifer asks.
"Tea."
"Cool, make one for me too." Jen smiles. I roll my eyes and make a cup for her too, "Thanks hon. Now help me set these files right."
I don't remember signing up as a secretary.
Suddenly my gaze falls on a blonde girl looking at me. She felt horribly familiar. "Who's that?"
"That's the boss' daughter." Jennifer answers, as she sips on her cup of tea, "She used to be a real snooty brat, but something happened a couple of years back that changed her entirely."
"Oh."
"Let's just say that she might have a hand in hiring you." Jennifer says.
"What?"
"Yeah, so you need to do whatever she says. She is also one of the designers."
"Okay." I say and go back to work.
----
Jennifer had asked me to go to some places in London, to click some pictures, tagging Tom along. "Oh, that was fun."
"Yeah, it was." I say, catching my breath.
"You should come over sometime. Chelsea would love to meet you. She is my fiancée." Tom says.
"Awesome. I'd love to." I say.
"Yeah, you'd totally love her. She makes some awesome Italian food." Tom says with a small chuckle in his voice.
"Then I have to come, someday." I smile.
"You have someone for you." Tom says and walks away.
It was the same blond girl I had seen before. I keep rewinding my memory, to fit her somewhere. But nothing budged. She gives a weak smile, "Phoenix do you remember me?"
"Just frown a bit." I say.
"What?"
"Brittany?"
