A/n : this chapter makes no sense I'm sorry the next one will be better hopefully.Tyler hopped off of his bike and started heading down a small path that seemed to lead to a tiny forest of sorts.
Josh followed, questioning Tyler's choice to leave their bikes on the side of the road.
"There's no crime on the island, we'll be okay" and although Josh was more worried about golf carts running the bikes over, he stayed quiet.
He followed Tyler through some trees, avoiding stepping on the hundreds of crabs that scattered around. After a while, they ended up in an empty piece of land. Sitting down on a small bench, they admired the beauty of the plains, and the rainbow that had formed. Well, Tyler admired it.
"I thought we were going to the beach" Josh stated.
"Fine ignore the rainbow" Tyler pouted jokingly, but stood up nonetheless. Although he wished to stay longer, he had a burning desire to please Josh, so he walked to where they came from and grabbed their bikes, Josh following close behind.
"Why did we stop here if we were just going to come right back?" Josh snapped, a bit mad that he had to waste his time and energy in a forest full of mosquitoes and crabs crawling everywhere.
"I'm sorry, I thought you would like it, I forgot that just cause I like something, doesn't mean other people do too. I'm sorry, let's just go, follow me" Tyler hopped in his bike and started pedaling almost instantly, not waiting for Josh to catch up. He felt embarrassed, like he had never felt before. He felt a stronger need to impress Josh than anyone else he had ever met. And he could definitely hear the pissed off tone in Josh's voice. He felt a jab through the heart at the thought of upsetting Josh. He pedaled a bit faster, hoping Josh wouldn't try to talk to him, because he knew he would probably start crying.
Josh felt bad. As soon as he finished snapping at Tyler, he felt bad. He saw Tyler's smile drop, and he saw how he got on his bike in a flash, and how he didn't wait for him like he had before, and how he seemed to be pedaling furiously, not wanting Josh to catch up.
They soon neared a hill, and Tyler slowed down so he wouldn't fall. Josh took the chance to catch up.
"Ty, hey ,dude" he tried getting Tyler's attention, which failed miserably as Tyler ignored him.
"Are you mad?" he asked glancing over at Tyler as much as he could without losing his balance on the bike.
"N-no" Tyler stuttered. He really wasn't, just really embarrassed, and upset with himself. He tried to hold back tears and began to pedal a bit faster. He couldn't cry in front of Josh, they just met, he would think he was a crybaby. He pedaled a bit faster.
"Then why are you pedaling so fast, and not talking" Josh asked. He looked at Tyler for a bit too long and lost his balance, causing him to crash into Tyler, and they both fell, their bikes crashing together. Neither of them were hurt, but Tyler found that this was the best time to let it out, rather than waiting till he got to the beach and having no reason to.
He began full out sobbing in a matter of seconds, and Josh was there in a jiffy to comfort him.
"Hey, hey it's okay, you're alright"
This only made Tyler cry harder. Josh noticed Tyler had landed perfectly on his bum, and held no scratches anywhere on his body.
"Bab- I mean, Tyler, what's wrong, why are you actually crying" he hugged the taller boy.
"I-I didn't mean to make you mad Josh. I tho-thought you might like it. This is even more embarrassing now, wow ok um, we sh-should probably get going" he sniffled a bit, before getting up and lifting his bike off the ground.
Josh walked behind him, wrapping his arms around Tyler, stopping him in his tracks.
"Don't worry ty, you didn't upset me, I was just being a salty bitch cause I got bit by a mosquito on my back and I couldn't reach it. I didn't know I sounded mean, I'm sorry. How about we go back tomorrow, with bug spray, and we stay for as long as you'd like"
Tyler leant back into Josh's touch. Feeling his face snuggle into the crook of his neck. He decided to ignore the harsh word that came out of the boys mouth only moments earlier.
"We will do that, but let's go to the beach right now. I know you really want to go" and with that, he mounted his bike, and waited for Josh to do so too.
