Josh insisted that they didn't need to see a scary movie, if Tyler would be scared later on. The younger boy simply turned his head and threatened to tell Ms. Newberry that Josh was misbehaving, if he didn't cut the crap and put on the movie.

Josh decided he would play a movie that was a bit less harsh. He searched for the awakening, which he thought was more sad than scary.

Tyler retrieved the newly bought marshmallows from Ms.Newberry, making slow movements, as if he was unsure wether or not he was allowed to take the marshmallows upstairs.

"Excuse me , Ms. Newberry, May I please take these marshmallows upstairs, me and Josh are gonna watch a movie" Tyler looked down at his feet, then realized he was indeed still wearing the blue onesie he had brought from home. He blushed a scarlet color, and was thankful when Josh's aunt gave him a firm "sure" and turned back around to put away the groceries.

Tyler ran upstairs and into the room where Josh lay face down on the floor, waiting for him. He turned his head to look at Tyler.

"Did you go down there wearing that?" He asked, no sign of taunting leaking through his voice.

"Yeah" Tyler answered, nervous as to what Josh had to say.

"Cute. Can we watch the movie now?" Josh asked standing up and making grabby hands at Tyler, who handed him the bag of marshmallows.

"Sure"

"I picked a new movie, the awakening, a few jump scares but nothing too bad" Josh shrugged plopping back down on the ground , scooting closer to Tyler as he sat beside him.

"Why? Cause you think I'm a wimp?" Tyler spat back, mostly just feeling like a baby, and taking it out a bit on Josh.

"No. Because I don't wanna get scared tonight. Unless you do, then I can play it if you want"

Tyler smiled, seeing that Josh was trying to help him out . "I'm good , wouldn't want you getting scared" he giggled, and Josh just punched his shoulder and started the movie.

Tyler remained quiet for the most part, he flinched a bit, but Josh saw the smile that crept onto his face as he held his hand for support.

"Mousie?"

The nickname made chills run up both the boys spines as the young actor on the screen repeated it over and over again. The woman screamed at him to stop, each time her voice increasing in power.

Tyler gripped Josh's hands tightly. He wasn't scared, he was excited. Something about that woman coming so close to figuring it all out, made adrenaline rush through his blood.

The adrenaline soon faded as the woman dreamt up a scarring flashback.

In a blink of Tyler's eyes, a shot was heard from the tv's speakers. Tyler sat, mouth and eyes wide open as the little boy in the movie tumbled out from his hiding place in the walls, blood spilling everywhere. Suddenly it all came to Tyler, he put the pieces of the movie together. It was a bit too much for him to handle. He had never been exposed to something so tragic. As tragic as a man shooting his wife, a little boy, and then himself. As tragic as a woman's brain blocking out her entire childhood. As tragic as knowing that little boy he had somehow grew attached to, was indeed a ghost, and very much dead. Tyler was used to Christian movies, or movies that had been approved by parents first. Not this, definitely not this.

The neck of Tyler's shirt was stained with tears, even after the movie ended. He sat there as the credits rolled, not moving one bit. When Josh began to speak about how that was his favorite movie, Tyler broke down into tears. He fell into Josh's arms and couldn't stop crying.

"Tyler, hey, it's just a movie, listen, are you okay? Answer me Tyler , it's okay"

Josh tried to calm Tyler down, which just caused him to cry harder. It wasn't long before Ms. Newberry was pounding on the door, demanding to be let in.

Josh picked Tyler up, who wrapped his legs around him and continued sobbing into his shoulder as josh unlocked the door.

"What the hell did you do to the poor boy Joshua? " she projected her voice with great power and dominance, and Josh would feel intimidated, if he wasn't more worried about the crying boy in his arms.

"I-I don't know, I just put in a movie and it ended and he just started full out sobbing"

Ms. Newberry, being the smart, educated woman that she was, thought back to when Tyler's grandparents told her he only watched movies approved by an adult, or Christian films.

"What movie Joshua?"

"The awakening" he replied, as if it had nothing to do with the fact that Tyler was emotionally damaged at this point.

"You're a dumbass Josh, you know that? Tyler's sensitive, he's never watched a movie that an adult hasn't seen beforehand. This is too much to throw at him at once." She scolded Josh.

"I'm okay now, I'm good" Tyler sniffled, removing his legs from Josh, seeing as he was more calm now. Josh let go of his bum, which he was supporting him by, and let Tyler stand up. The brunette felt silly, and he felt that Josh would think he was strange for not watching movies on his own without having a parent see them first.

"Do you want me to drive you home sweetie ?" Ms. Newberry kindly offered.

"No thank you ma'am, me and Josh wanna have a sleepover." Tyler looked at the ground "I mean, I think he does at least" Ms. Newberry just smiled and headed downstairs.

"Of course I wanna have a sleepover ty!" Josh exclaimed. Hugging Tyler from behind and lifting him off the ground soon after his aunt had left the room.

"Now let's sit on the bed and talk about why you're crying please, I don't wanna make the same mistake again"

Tyler rolled his eyes and sat on the floor, contrary to what Josh had asked him to do.

"It was just sad and a lot to take in, can we not please?"Tyler began to open up his bead box once more.

"Sure"
