~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Josh and Tyler pedaled all the way back to Tyler's house, since Tyler had asked to sleepover, and he needed permission first.
As soon as he walked in with Josh, he was bombarded with questions about the boy next to him.
To Josh's surprise, Tyler's grandparents did not react to Josh's looks like many of the other residents had. In stead of acting disgusted, Tyler's grandma seemed fascinated by Josh's wild pink hair, and she couldn't help but run her hands through it. She asked if he had dyed it himself and how long it took him.
"Oh hey there kiddo!" Tyler's grandpa greeted "who's pinky here" he said pointing to Joshua and chuckling at his wonderful wife who was still acting mesmerized by the pink fluff.
"Oh um, this, this is Josh, he's my um, friend. Yeah." Tyler glanced over at Josh nervously.
Tyler's grandmother smiled knowingly. Of course Tyler didn't notice, but Josh wasn't as naive and he always kept an eye out for people's reactions.
"I was wondering if I could sleepover at Josh's house? He's staying with his aunt. Ms. Newberry. " Tyler's voice cracked at the end of each sentence, a bit of uneasiness leaking through his calm facade.
"Oh of course darling! Here, she let me borrow a cupcake tray and I never gave it back. I made some cupcakes to return with the tray. I'm sure she won't mind if you kids eat a few, have fun." The short old lady exclaimed as she shoved a full cupcake tray into the boys arms, rambling and pushing him out the door, locking it behind her.
The two boys stood shocked outside the door, wondering why they were just shoved out without an explanation. They soon realized the reason when they heard
"Finally! We haven't had sex in years cause poor Tyler's always around! Let's go!"
And then steps, and the shuffling and dragging of feet.
Tyler and Josh stood there shocked , staring at each other with wide eyes. And then it dawned on Josh.
"What time is it?" He asked
"Twelve o'clock, why? "
"I thought you had church today? And that you couldn't hang out till eleven"
"Oh um, well I asked to be excused"
Josh smirked.
"Just to see me baby?" Josh asked jokingly, snaking an arm around Tyler's waist and pulling him closer.
" Josh, not here, people might see" Tyler breathed , head resting on Josh's shoulder to hide his blush.
"Ok" he removed his hand from the fragile boys waist "but operation 'see if Tyler's homo' is still a go right ?"
Tyler chuckled "yeah man"
"Lit"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The boys walked in to Josh's aunts home with guilty looks on their faces.
"Oh. Tyler. Hi. I didn't think you would have met Josh yet, I kinda hoped he wouldn't meet anyone. Has he been troublesome?" She asked worriedly.
"No ma'am, the only trouble he's caused has been eating half of these cupcakes here" Tyler chuckled, carefully handing her the half eaten tray of cupcakes.
"Oh alright. That's great I guess. You staying the night sweetie?"
Tyler looked down at his feet, frightened that she wouldn't allow him to "with your permission ma'am"
"Of course Tyler, you kids can go on up I'm going to the mini market before it closes. Do you guys need anything ?" Josh's aunt tilted her head to the side, awaiting an answer.
Tyler simply shook his head no, but Josh quickly interrupted his head shaking with "some chocolate milk please, and marshmallows, also chocolate. Me and ty are gonna have a movie marathon" he punched Tyler's shoulder lightly. Ms. Newberry rolled her eyes, but exited the house anyways, and the two boys rushed upstairs.
"What movie do you wanna see?" Josh asked, turning on the tv. And opening up Amazon.
"Princess and the frog? " Tyler asked shyly.
"You're kidding right?" Josh teased, instantly regretting it as he saw Tyler lower his head in shame and stutter out a "o-of course I am"
"How about this? The conjuring ?" Tyler, the boy who hated scary movies, nodded his head in an attempt to please Josh. The movie started up, and although he should have been paying attention, he kept thinking back to how Josh had mocked him for his movie choice. Tyler felt stupid. And he let a single tear roll off his cheek. Why did he always cry about everything?
Josh turned to him to comment on the movie but his smile faded once he saw Tyler crying.
"Hey hey babyboy why are you crying? Don't cry come on, tell me what's wrong"
Tyler shook his head, wiping his eyes like a child would. "I'm not crying" he pouted, bottom lip trembling.
Josh pulled him into his arms in a tight embrace.
"I don't like it when people lie to me baby" he mumbled into Tyler's shoulder, nuzzling his face into it, surrounding himself with his sweet scent.
"No reason josh, just play the movie" he replied, wrapping his arms around Josh's neck and cuddling into his shoulder blade.
