Now that we've started with a clean slate, SquishyScrunchiee (my daughter) can vouch for me starting my Wattpad journey June 30, 2016. It was the day after my 43rd birthday, and I so wanted a platform to display my current novel, Second Time Around (pictured above). The only problem was it wasn't finished yet, and I didn't want to wait until it was completed to have it published.
I had surpassed the age of 40 and was starting to feel like time was no longer on my side. This was a huge burden, because I have always been a dreamer and my current, unfulfilled, existence was a nightmare. I mean, if planning for success looked like a college degree, marriage and kids, I had hit the jackpot. Still, somehow, I was completely dissatisfied and felt like a failure at the simplest things.
I had started walking years ago in the direction I thought I wanted to go in, until the illusion of happily ever after faded. My first job out of college was in Information Technology. In fact, my first few jobs out of college were in Information Technology. I loved my paycheck; I just hated my career.
So, I started working on a few different storylines over the next few years in between having babies (of which I have three). I had left Corporate America after the birth of my first child (1999), but continued to busy myself with life "happenings" throughout the years. Two births later (2003 and 2010), with a few more career opportunities in between, guess what? I'm still busy with life happening.
