Hopefully, by now, you have begun to ask the right questions. If not, I know, it takes time. It's kind of hard to "unlearn" years, if not decades, of misinformation. You have to be ready to accept (and admit) you haven't always had all the answers or done the right things, but life goes on. We put our best foot forward and we keep going. Sometimes fast, other times slow, but we move even if we have to slither.
I know, this just got even more interesting. There's an old saying, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going." Nobody ever told us where they go or what they do when they get there, we just know they went... because it got tough. Why do you think that is?
Do you suppose it was their inner strength pushing them to simply do something... perhaps anything? Could it have been in their nature to just act? Some kind of innate sense? I wonder if "the tough" never really wanted to go, they just up and decided to go... because it was needed... because it was expected.
Listen, my friend, there are few times in life when we actually get to do what we want. I tell my children that often. Even when you're grown, or think you're grown, you still have to answer to God. At work, you have to answer to a boss; at home, a spouse; at school, the teacher. It's an endless list of responsibilities and cycle of expectations we may never, as long as we are breathing, be able to live up to. And, do you know what? It's okay.
