Now that I have a better understanding of who I am and how I came to be, I am the most content I have ever been... at least for as far as I can remember. With that being said, writersblockinmyhead can confirm I, meaning my true, authentic self, submitted an article in response to a post for writers on July 4, 2016. In fact, it was SquishyScrunchiee who forwarded the message to me that WattmagMagazine was looking for writers to join their team in a variety of roles. Excitedly, both of my girls encouraged me to apply. I will admit, I had my doubts. But, what did I really have to lose?
After convincing myself this was just another writing opportunity, I searched through about a decade's worth of old articles. When I wrote my first online content, my now 12yr old (at the time of this publishing) may have been two, and now it was this same child cheering me on to greater heights.
Because it was July 4th weekend, I had already decided I wouldn't hear from anyone until at least Tuesday. Nope. Five hours later, I received an email thanking me for my submission and welcoming me aboard. About a week later I had the nice, new bio you see posted above. I was as giddy as a schoolkid who had been pecked on the cheek by their elementary school playground crush.
It had finally happened. My dream had come true. I was a Writer and someone, other than me and my immediate family, recognized it. I was finishing a novel, writing freelance, and preparing for the ride of my life. I had done it, and in only five days.
