Rose has hurt her leg badly while in a biking accident. It was broken but not too serious. Grayson had stayed clear of hospitals after he understood his "gift".
The hospital was torture all the people with their clocks running low, the ones who never leave the hospital alive. The worst was kids, the ones who had barely gotten to live and were so close to the end. He made sure he made it in and out with his head down.
