"Wait, explain to me what's happening?" Sage asked me. We were now at a small coffee shop, sitting at the outdoor tables.
"Sage," I begin. "I told you. I am an angel of the lord."
"I thought Angels were nice." She chuckled. "Why are you a smartass?"
I smiled. "We're all smartasses."
"So what, it's an angel thing?" She crosses her arms, a smirk on her face.
"Yes." I continued to smile.
"So is it true?" Sage's smirk faded, her eyes filled with curiosity now.
"What is?" My face turned as hers.
She looked down, playing with her fingers. "God sent you?" She looked up at me, her eyes glossy.
"It has to be." I looked at her. "Even if I am a smartass, I'm here for you."
"Oh my gosh Cas." She threw her face into her hands, a smile on her face while she sniffled.
"You might be a smartass but you're a good one, Cas."
"Thank you," I smiled. I leaned in closer to her for she was across the table. "for rhyming."
