Entry #3: moving on

Arashi looked at Faye and Gneiss together, looking so happy together. He had to move on, he knew. But somehow, he felt that letting her go was nearly impossible. But he knew the time had come. He was finally going to have to get over his love of her. He knew, there was no possible way as long as Gneiss was there for her, and yet he meant no harm to him.

There was no point in moping over it, so Arashi knew that he was best off letting her go. And he's been trying. He's been trying hard to do so, but struggling. So when the FBI had offered him a job, he jumped at the chance. Okay, so maybe it was the Russian who had done so, but Arashi soon found himself getting excited.

Getting his degrees were merely a distraction to him. He had hoped for something with more of a challenge, but the degrees he held proved nothing. He had easily attained them. When the FBI had offered him the job, he wasn't even the first to know. He was sure that they would have given him no challenge, so he would have declined them almost immediately.

But Ivan, sneaky Ivan, had hacked into Arashi's email and then emailed the FBI his acceptance to their company. Arashi had no idea until they emailed him back, saying that they were pleased at his offer and then they requested he report to their main headquarters at 0800 the next day, his eye twitched slightly, finding it slightly weird they were pleased that he accepted their offer. What offer?

Then he checked through his inbox and found an email he had never seen before. His laptop had marked it as read, and he found it odd that he had never received anything from the FBI. He then continued down and then read the "reply" that he had "sent". As his eyes danced through the words, seeing them but not really reading them. That was when something clicked in his head.

The way his hacker had wrote was oddly familiar, with something very familiar about the choice of words used. And then the name came crashing to him like lightning struck a lightning rod. Ivan Illynsky.

He immediately dialled for the Russian, who picked up the phone.

"You hacked my email," Arashi said, immediately getting down to business.

"Well hello to you too," he chuckled. "And yes I did. You really need to change you password. I mean, abcidee?"

Arashi felt himself reddening. "You didn't even tell me! I only got their email today, telling me that they want me down at their headquarters at eight!"

"Good, then. Do you need me to send you there?" Arashi could almost hear the smirk in Ivan's voice.

"Why?" He asked in exasperation.

"Because you, my friend, need to live a bit more. Ever since Creed was taken down, what have you been doing? Moping around? Getting degrees without doing anything with them? Makes no sense, Katsuragi! So, a really good friend of yours went and recommended you to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and they sent you an invitation! Your welcome!"

"But Ivan-"

"Come on, Arashi, don't tell me you're scared of them, are you?" He teased. Arashi knew what Ivan was doing, but he had fallen for it anyway. He let out a defeated sigh.

"No."

"Very good! Now then, I trust you'll be able to make it on your own to their main headquarters, yes?"

He let out another defeated sigh. "Yes, Ivan."

Even on the phone, he could tell that the Russian was grinning. "Good. Have fun!"

With that, the phone conversation had come to an end, and Arashi was still slightly lost. Eventually, he sighed and then got ready for his trip to DC, he even booked his flight for later that night. He mentally cursed the Russian several terrible deaths, but eventually got over his nerves and felt something he hadn't felt in a while.

Excitement. All his life, he knew what was going to happen, because he had always been the one with the upper hand. And whenever he lost, he only felt the anger towards the other party. But working for the FBI was a different league all together, but it still did relatively the same thing as Creed. They wiped out the criminals, ensuring that they would no longer walked around freely. Well, maybe the FBI didn't kill them immediately, but it was still relatively the same. And for some reason, Arashi was feeling anxious.

He felt like a young boy again, back when Master had first given him his mark. It was kind of like the same thing, the same feeling, the same ritual. Well, kind of. Not really.

Soon, the day had come and Arashi found himself sat at a rather nice seat at the head's main office. After an hour-long interview, the man finally smiled at him and stood up. "Arashi Katsuragi, well done. Sumiko will now show you to your office."

A young Asian girl no older that Arashi himself immediately came in. She was what he would call beautiful, with her straight dark hair and her long dark lashes, paired with her porcelain skin and friendly eyes, she was - I repeat - what Arashi thought was beautiful.

As they walked out, she smiled at him. I like that smile, he found himself thinking. "Good morning, sir," she greeted. "My name is Sumiko, and I will be your assistant. This is your office," she said, directing him to a simple yet modern room, which had a computer and other fancy equipment only an agency like the FBI would have, although he was already familiar with most of them, having worked in Creed before. "You may look for me should you need anything, sir."

He smiled at her. "Call me Arashi," he told her as she closed the door behind her.

He turned the computer on and found that there were plenty of case files waiting for him to solve. He smiled. He could get used to this. Plenty of cases to keep him busy for a large part of his career, a beautiful assistant which reminded him of Japan, where he had his fair share of good memories at as well, and a chance to finally do what he had been trying to for a long time: move on.

So, I figured that as much as I liked Ivan, I couldn't keep writing about him (although I did have to include him), and since Arashi always seemed so poor without Faye, I figured I'd give him a nice story too! :D
