Ah.
Hello Thomas.
You're awake. Do you know where you are? Or how you got here?*Cough*
Ow. Where am I? Who are you?
Please tell me. I'm scared.Everything is okay don't be alarmed. But i'm about to tell you what happened to you two years ago. Okay?
W.. What happened? What is happening?
At 2:43, January 7th 2014 you were in an accident. You were knock off your bicycle at a T junction. The driver was speeding, and skipped the red light. You and an older man were injured. However you fared the worst. He was out of the hospital in April 2014. Its now February of 2016. You've been gone along time. Longer than any of us had expected.
Wait. So... I'm confused.
Two years ago you were seriously injured in a collision due to the impatience of a bad driver. You've been in a coma for those two years. You've had life support machines connected to you, nurses, doctors and your family in and out of here ever since. This is the first time you've moved or made communication. You've been making gasping for air, but nothing understandable. You are very lucky Thomas. We thought you were gone. But Dr Damien knew that there would make progress.
Can I have some time along please? Just to process everything.
Of course. I am Dr smith. Im on speed dial 7 if you need me at any point while im gone. Dont move too much and dont pull out any of the tubes connected to the machine as they are pumping oxygen and water into your body stabilising the medicine.
*Lays in the bed and stares at the sealing. Dr Smith knocks on the door.*
Hey Thomas... Your mother is here.
Thomas. We all thought you were gone. We've all been worried sick.
I love you mum. I wouldn't ever want to leave you. Or anyone. Im just lucky I have not.
Dr Damien said that you have to stay here until next tuesday but then after that you should be able to come home and you can see everyone. Your grandparents, your sister, your father and sparky.
*Tear forms in his eyes*
Okay mum. I'll see you all then.
*Mother gives Thomas a hug and she leaves. Dr Smith enters*
Right Thomas. We need to give you some more medication, so we have to put you to sleep for a bit while we control your bodily functions. It will only be for an hour or two. There wont be any negative effects.
*Next Week, Tuesday*
Hello my son. Welcome home Thomas. we've all missed you.
Hello dad. Ive missed you more.
Weve got a gift for you.
*Handed the gift*
Its from all of us.
Thank you.
*Unwrapped it*
Its a journal. we thought maybe you might be interested in starting a journal.
Thank you. I certainly will. Do you mind if I go to my room.
Sure thing champ. Give us a shout if you need anything.
March 1st 2016
Hello Journal. Im not sure how to start you.
How is your day?
Why am I asking a question to a book. Oh dear haha.
I guess I will introduce my self, my name is Thomas Fisher, I am 15 years old and live in London. I am the oldest of two children. I guess I enjoy the usual things to a 15 year old boy, sports, mates, isolation and the one girl that I cannot quite get to notice the real me. Who am I kidding you don't want to know that. Why do i feel like I have told you this before?
I must be going insane. I wish you could write back. We could get to know each other a bit and have a conversation. Who am I kidding, no one will want to haha.
Well i guess life at the hospital was alright. Most of my food was either microwave meals or vending machine crisps, not the healthiest meal to be eating after a come but they know more than me. It went quicker than i thought. two years i was there. That other man was only there for four months. Wonder who he is, what he's doing. If he came to see me. life is a curious adventure full of questions left unanswerable. The mind is a marvelous organ. It holds memories, the ability to do daily functions. Im lucky to be able to use mine still.
Well you probably have more important things to be doing, so i will leave the first part short. I dont know how much i will use this but hey, you'll find me.
Goodbye, Friend.
Thomas Fisher
