(Y/N) bolted upright, her lungs gasping air in as the rest of her body shook violently. Tears were streaming down her cheeks as she desperately tried wiping them away. Her head was a mess and the foreign surroundings weren't helping one bit. She heard footsteps from somewhere and looked up just in time to see a door open, Carlisle stepping in soon after. (Y/N) stared at him with wide eyes, remembering what she had seen earlier that day.
Carlisle walked up beside her, kneeling down next to the couch she was laying on. He reached out to give her a comforting embrace but (Y/N) cringed and scooted away from him. An expression of slight hurt came over his face as he watched (Y/N) who stared right back at him.
"How?" (Y/N) whispered, her voice shaky and hoarse. It was only now she realized she had been screaming earlier when those headaches had come over her. Carlisle didn't speak so (Y/N) asked again. "How are you alive?"
"(Y/N) I-" Carlisle stopped himself, pausing momentarilly. "I was going to tell you."
"Tell me what?" (Y/N) asked as her eyes narrowed. Carlisle let out a small sigh. "Carlisle, I'm really confused right now. I saw you over a hundred years ago just as you are now."
"Before I explain I need you to calm down." Carlisle said quickly, holding his hand out to (Y/N). The girl looked down at it before looking back to his golden eyes. "I promise I'll tell you everything but first you need to get your breathing even again or you're going to faint again."
(Y/N) swallowed some spit before she took a deep breath. Carlisle nodded encouraging as (Y/N) kept inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth. She closed her eyes, trying to focus on her breathing only. After a few moments the girl nodded, a small sniffle leaving her.
"I'm... good now." She let out another shaky breath before opening her eyes again. "Now please explain."
Carlisle nodded. "Can I?" He asked gesturing to the seat besides (Y/N) on the couch. The girl hesitantly nodded and he got up and sat down. "I know this is probably going to be a lot for you to swallow at once but please remember that I kept it a secret for a reason."
"Okay, just get it out then." (Y/N) took another deep breath. "You know, like a bandage. Rip it off quickly and it won't hurt."
Despite the joke Carlisle kept a serious face. "I'm a vampire." (Y/N) stared at him, unblinking, for a while. Carlisle looked at her awaitingly.
Vampire? (Y/N) knew the term of course and also what a vampire was but... they were a myth. Surely something like vampires couldn't exist, right? (Y/N) felt a frown make its way onto her face as she stared down at the floor. But then again, (Y/N) had just found out she has had multiple lives throughout history and gained the memories of a lot them. It wasn't entirely impossible.
"I think I believe you." (Y/N) said hesitantly as she looked him in the eyes. Carlisles shoulders dropped slightly as it seemed he had been tense up until now. "But that still leaves a lot of questions."
"And I'll be happy to answer those." Carlisle offered a small relieved smile. "I do have some questions of my own though."
"Are you sure you're not regretting this?" Carlisle questioned for the fifth time that hour. (Y/N) rolled her eyes at him before giving him a small smile.
"Of course not." She said, getting out of the car with Carlisle following close by. "I've already told you that. I've just found you for the first time in almost four hundred years. I am not just gonna leave now. I'm not that easy to get rid of."
At her teasing tone Carlisle chuckled a bit. "You know that's not what I meant." He walked to (Y/N) and swiftly took her hand, squeezing it gently. "I just want to make sure you don't regret this. Choosing to be with me and all. It's not an easy life to choose at all."
