"So, Lela's ex?" I ask. Jay turns his head to look at me with an are you serious expression on his dark face. I shrug and look out at the view.

Right now we're sitting on a bench in a beautiful park eating ice cream and watching people pass by. It's very colorful. Red, yellow, orange and brown leaves covering the dry grass while also still clinging to life on the branches of the trees.

If the landscape were the case, then autumn would be my favorite season but it's not. Winter is. There's just something about finally seeing Bethany in decent clothes or seeing her freeze to death in her skanky ones that just makes my soul light up. Imagine a girl, wearing the tightest smallest mini skirt and crop top with six inch heel boots on a -30C day. She wanted to keep summer alive or something. Don't ask. Just laugh. Laugh real hard.

"What do you see?"

I look back at Jay after taking a lick of my ice cream. "What do you mean?" I ask, pretty confused.

"You're smiling which means you obviously saw something."

I chuckle. "Oh yeah I saw something all right. Now, back to Lela's ex."

Jay takes a big sigh and again looks at me to ask if I'm serious. He sort of looks cute with his head tilted and right eyebrow raised.

"Okay fine. They thought they were in love. He was close to her family, especially her little brother. Then things got ugly. She broke up with him and he still wants her back. You happy?"

I nod. "Satisfied enough. So the little brother loved him too?"

Jay sighs again, really hating my curiosity. "Yes one of her little brothers, Connor, loved the guy to pieces. You see, his two older brothers, Xan and Jackie, don't have much in common with him and don't hang out with him so when he met Grayson, he instantly loved him. Now Grayson is using Connor to convince Lela to agree to get back together."

There's silence for a few minutes. Enough time to take it in. Then I have another question.

"So that was three of her siblings, who are the other two?"

He sighs again, bigger and louder this time with an ugh added to it. It makes me laugh. "Last question?"

"About Lela yes." I answer with a big amused smile.

"Her older sister is Miné and her younger sister is Aillyn. Who is very adorable by the way. Now are you done yet?"

My smile becomes wider. "Nope." He chuckles at me, rubbing his face.

"Who are your siblings?"

His frustration turns into amusement. "Why don't you answer that question first."

I roll my eyes. He already knows the answer. "I have a sister."

"Older or younger?" The amusement is growing.

"Older." By three minutes.

"Name?" Oh shit.

Name name name. Saying Bethany would be too memorable. I'm not good with thinking up names right off the bat. It's been too long. He's looking at me very curiously. Whatever I say now he'll think is a lie.

"Bitch." I finally answer, sitting straighter and trying to look dead serious. It throws him off a little. But he still nods in respect for my choice of name.

"I'll make sure to call her that when I meet her." Which will be never. "Anyway I have an older brother." He says, not making eye contact when he talks.

"Name?"

This time he does look at me when he says, "Let's just go with Asshole."

I nod in respect. Not asking anything else knowing I've crossed a lot of boundaries. It's still good to know though. I'd like to make sure I'm not joining a gang. And even though I'm still not sure what I'm joining, I know it's good enough. Here I am thinking I was the only one with a crappy life. Should be more observant next time.
