… Some Serious Competition.

So we were all sitting together at the lunch table, as usual, but the atmosphere wasn't like all the other times before. The boys just sat there and didn't talk at all. It was like something had happened at the weekend that no one was allowed to talk about, whenever one went to make contact with the other they would both turn away instantly. Something had definitely happened.

After another fifteen minute silence the bell finally broke and immediately all three boys jumped out their seats and headed in different directions. When they were out of sight, which didn't take long, Arianna asked the question that was on everyone's minds, "What's up with them?"

And like the good gossip she was, Quinn obviously knew the answer. "There's a new girl in town and Oliver managed to bed her Saturday night." Quinn told us whilst checking her nails and sounding extremely bored. "What?" she asked us when she saw our shocked faces. I wasn't shocked at the news but shocked at her reaction. I didn't even know there was a new girl in town never mind the fact that one of the boys slept with her.

"How do you know this?" Ans asked her. Normally Ans would be the one who waited to actually see for herself if the gossip Quinn told her was in fact accurate but her eyes held so much curiosity that I was almost sure it wasn't her.

"Well I had the pleasure of showing her round the school this morning." She told us feeling proud of herself. Well that explains why she wasn’t in Art.

"And what she just came right out and said she slept with Oliver Woods." I asked my voice going a little high, so far this girl sounded like a slut. I was being very judgemental... yes I admit it but you do not come to a new neighbourhood and sleep with the first guy you lay eyes on. And you do not come into school and admit it to someone who is basically a stranger.

"No not exactly" She said giggling at my response. “I got her talking about her past and stuff. Turns out she used to live here and was Jake's childhood best friend and was Cole's girlfriend. She moved to Utah when she finished Junior High because her Mom got a job transfer and now she's back for Senior Year." I couldn't ask Quinn any questions because at that moment she walked into her English class room and left Arianna and I to walk further up the corridor with loads of unanswered questions floating around in our heads.

"So what now Cole and Jake are pissed at Oliver for sleeping with their best friend slash girlfriend?" I asked Ans, however she was just as confused as I was.

"I... think. So." she said repeating what I had just said to herself. "I'll see you in PE" she told me before entering her English class.

Well... Talk about drama.

English was really fun today. Normally I hated English; in all honesty it was one of the most boring classes I took that was probably because I sat beside the most boring boy in the year. I couldn't even tell you his name simply because he didn't talk. Ever! I've sat beside him for over a year now and he hasn't uttered one word to anyone. Not one. But it doesn't matter now because we were all switching seats.

I now sat beside one if the boys from the "in-crowd" and, strangely, I wasn't worried about it. Last year I would have gone all typical girl and worry about my hair, makeup and smell but not this year. I wasn't sure if it was the fact that I was a year older or the fact that I had become more confident while hanging out with the boys, but I just wasn't worried about sitting next to Brad Willis.

He was really nice to me and actually talked to me and I actually sounded normal when I talked back. At times I had tears falling from my eyes at the stuff he was saying. You wouldn't think it, but Brad was really funny, I always thought he was a guy that took things a little seriously.
