AldenAfter being so nervous over meeting Maine's second family and trying to just be casual with a bunch of strangers in Steve's parents party, I can say that it has been a very joyful and eventful weekend for both Maine and I.
Before going home that Monday, Dawn invited us for brunch. It seems like she is really happy for us. I am on the verge of sharing to her about Maine being pregnant, but I know Maine would want to share that news with her, after all, she considers Dawn as her second mom.
"I'm glad you're here." Maine said, taking me out of my musings. She takes my hand and clasps it to hers.
"There's nowhere in the world I'd rather be right now but to be here with you." I tell her, lifting our laced hands to my lips. For some reason, I love kissing her knuckles too. Well, the truth is I just love kissing her.
"Maine, Richard, the doctor is here. I'll just have you wait in one of the exam rooms. Please follow me." Nurse Carla tells us. We follow her to one of the exam rooms and waited for the doctor.
We are in the doctor's office for Maine's appointment. Today is the day that we will find out if Maine is really pregnant or not. I've been praying and praying that she is as I have already developed a bond and love for our unborn baby.
It's like, every time I touch her belly, I feel endless love and pure joy. I really can't wait to start a family with Maine. I can already imagine her having a big belly and really pregnant and me spoiling the heck out of her!
Oh yeah, knowing my personality, I will spoil Maine and our kids. I will be overly protective of them. I don't know how I am going to handle it but right now I am already feeling it. Thinking of this happy thoughts makes me warm and fuzzy inside, it just really makes me happy.
The door to the exam room opens and in comes a female doctor, who looks like Dawn, just a little older. Maine told me that her doctor is Audrey's aunt and Dawn's older sister. I'm glad! For I know that she will take care of Maine and our baby.
"Hello Maine! And who do we have here?" She asked, looking at me.
"Hello Dr. Williams. This is Richard, my fiancé." Maine said proudly.
"Did you just say fiancé?" She asked Maine again.
"Yes, you heard it right. Richard here is my fiancé." Maine beamed, lifting her left hand, showing off her engagement ring.
I am proud of that ring too. I did a fine job picking it. It really suits her. It's sparkly but not in an overrated way, but just by looking at it, one can say that it did cost a lot of money.
Hey! I am willing to spend a lot for this wonderful woman sitting beside me.
"I am glad to meet you Richard, I am Dr. Carol Williams." She turned to me and extended her hand.
"Richard Faulkerson, Jr., Dr. Williams. I am glad to meet you too." I said.
"So, you are engaged?" She asked Maine, raising her eyebrow.
"Yes, and no the proposal didn't come after I told him about the baby, it came before." Maine cleared.
"I'm glad. And Richard, that's a very beautiful ring you got her there. She deserve that."
