Alden

"Hey babe! Where do you want Santa?" I called out from the living room.

I really don't know why we need to decorate the mansion for Christmas. We rarely stay in here anyway. But for the last two weeks we've been in and out of here. There are nights that she'll just decide that she wants to sleep here instead.

I don't ask her anymore because I don't want to mess with a pregnant lady. The last time I asked, she made a big deal out of it and she didn't talk to me for a whole day! She wouldn't even let me touch her. And you know what I asked? I asked her if she wants another piece of the French Macarons, which she loves by the way.  And then she said, why did I ask her and then smirked at the same time. Maybe I find her fat and I don't like her anymore. She said that she should just go back to New York and stay there until the baby is born, that way I don't have to see how ugly she looks!

Imagine what I have to go through! All because I asked if she wants another piece of the freakin' Macarons!

That's why I learned my lesson, do not ask or comment about food and looks, and mostly about anything, unless necessary.

Maine is fourteen weeks pregnant now. She still doesn't look it but the doctor said that she will balloon up when we hit four or five months. She had a few morning sickness episodes and I feel so bad for her that she has to go through that. All tiny and fragile and just barfing her gut out.

We haven't told my family about the baby yet, she said that she wanted to tell them herself. So I just kept my mouth zipped up, if she wants to tell them herself then so be it, I am not getting in the middle of it.  Lesson learned.

We had a very nice Autumn. She let me experience Autumn festivals. We went to a Pumpkin Patch and got lost in a corn maze, ate a lot of pumpkin pies and all things pumpkin!

We had a very nice Thanksgiving day too. And Maine was right about hosting Thanksgiving dinner, she was good at it. I can already see her hosting dinners for family and friends back home.  Annie and her started prepping the food three days prior to the dinner. I didn't know that a turkey needs to be thawed three days before and marinated for a long time. Oh and that bird is huge and really heavy. When we went to buy it in the store, I had a hard time lifting it up from the freezer.  Did I mention that we bought two? And then, she prepared five other dishes that goes with the Turkey. There are five different kinds of pies and a whole table of snacks and chips. It was really fun though, all of the inn's staff including their family are there. And my kindhearted fiancé invited four of her old neighbors who are spending Thanksgiving alone. In other words, the inn is a full house. There are probably thirty people with us that day, kids and adults alike.  Maine is enjoying herself.  I just have to watch her though because she overdo things most of the time.

Like right now,  she is exerting a lot of effort decorating the mansion.  Although she's doing it slowly, still, I don't think there's a real need for it.

"Just put him on the side of the mantle, on top of the fireplace." I heard her yell out. She's in the second floor guest room sorting out more Christmas tree ornaments. I helped her take these boxes of her mom's ornaments down from the inn's attic.  She said that her mom loved collecting these and  she had accumulated it throughout the years.  "Babe, I need you up here please."

I wonder what she needs now. I run up the stairs, taking two steps at a time. When I reached the bedroom, I found her sitting in the middle of the bed, ornaments around her and some are hanging on her fingers, a fake evergreen draped on her shoulders. She looks like a human Christmas tree and she is so adorable.
