Little Bird: A Cody Simpson Love Story

Chapter Two

My alarm began to ring and for once, I jumped right up out of bed. Knowing exactly how many hours until I will be hanging with the one and only Cody Simpson. Since I am home schooled, I don’t have too many “close” friends. So I asked Jase to accompany me tonight. Shockingly he was thrilled to come with. We left for the one hour drive to the concert. I was so excited. I was forcing Jase to learn every song of Cody’s on the way there. He acted like he was annoyed but I knew deep down he was loving it.  

We pulled into the parking lot and we were the very first people in the VIP line. The general admission line had about a hundred plus people in it, so I was thrilled that we were VIP. The line started to form behind us and before I knew it about 75 people were behind me.  At 4:45 a lady came out and opened the door for us and told us the rules and what exactly was going to happen. At 5:00 they scanned our tickets and we entered the beautiful concert hall, there was a big beautiful chandler hanging from the ceiling. There were red drapes all around the walls, making for a very elegant, classy vibe.

We then walked through this long hallway, and I saw someone I recognized, his name didn’t come to me at first, then it hit me. 

“JUSTIN!” I yelled out.  Justin StirIng, Cody’s friend and crew member looked over at me. Smiled and waved then came over and said hello.

“Hey guys! You excited to see Cody!?” Asked Justin.

“I can’t wait!” I replied.

“Awesome, I’m sure Cody can’t wait to met you either!” Justin said in a very reassuring way. Justin then took a photo with me and move on to talk with other fans.  I could not believe I was finally here, waiting to meet one of my biggest celebrity crushes right next to Bradley Cooper and the guy from the State Farm commercials. 

After about ten minutes of waiting I saw Cody! He started walking toward me, all the people behind me began to scream. I tried to hold it all together and not act like a crazy obsessed fan. Even though on the inside I was screaming. Justin then came over to me and said

“Cody is ready to start, you’re first”  My palms began to sweat, and my hands started to shake as I handed my camera to Justin.  I then walked over to Cody, surprisingly kept my cool and began to chat with him.

“Hi I’m Macy” I said as my voice was shaking due to the fact I was about to have a nervous breakdown. 

“Hi Macy! I’m Cody, so lovely to meet you! I love your shoes!” Cody said as he pointed down to my plain white vans.

“Oh thank you so much! I bought this outfit specifically for today!” I said excitedly.

“Really, well you look very pretty.” Cody said to me very softly. We then took our photo, hugged, and Cody said to me 

“Enjoy the show!” As I walked away. I then noticed as we were leaving the meet and greet there was this small area about ten feet or so from cody. Me and Jase could stand and watch the rest of the meet and greet here, I thought. There was a red velvet rope in front of this area and it looks as it it was meant for that exact reason. So we stood there and watched Cody met other fans. Cody would occasionally glance over at me, smile and waved. I then noticed a crowd started to form behind and around us. Other people were having the same idea as us, to stand by Cody. As the meet and greet line started to come to an end, the crowd behind me became much more intense. There were people trying to push their way to the front. And as Cody met the very last person, he then started to walk away. Everyone was calling his name so he ran over and gave us in the front high fives, then as he began to head off backstage the crowd just seemed to lunge forward pushing me, and only me to the ground. I felt someone break my fall, thinking to myself “it’s just another fan” I sat up and realized it was Cody. A security guard came and scooped up Cody and took him away from the madness. I was escorted up by a very nice man named Jeffery, turns out he is Cody’s bodyguard. The rest of the security guards got the crowd under control, and Jeffery was making sure I was alright.
